CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
TO BE STAGED
Sunday school members of St. Michael's Episcopal church will stage their Christmas pageant December 18, at 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Co-directors for the annual event are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thompson. The traditional Christmas tree celebration complete with presents will highlight the Yule party, to follow the program, and will be held in the parish house.

Benjamin Franklin
"Why the Chimes Rang," dramatic Christmas story, will staged via Christmas songs and scenes by Benjamin Franklin students tonight (Thursday) at 7 o'clock in the Fremont Junior high school auditorium, Miss R Williams, principal, stated. The program will highlight the P.A. meeting, Mrs. Forrest Simpson, president, said.
The large choir will be led by Miss Mary Louise Fleckens while Miss Aureda Olson will rect the small choir. Dramatic constructor for the program is Miss Clair Harmon assisted by theulty comprising Chester Fowler, Miss Beryl Kennedy, Miss Sweeney, Miss Anna Clark, Miss Blanche Smith, Mrs. Florence Reil, Mrs. Mary Keenen, Dorothy Cox and Miss Hazel Johnson. Students from the kindergarten through the sixth grades participate in the program.
Broadway
Because the Broadway school 412 East Broadway has no auditorium, no main program is presented, Mrs. Blanche Daniels, principal, announced. Each room gives individual programs to parents are invited. Both sections of the kindergarten and all classes will mark the Yule season Friday afternoon, December after 1 p.m., with the exception of the third grade which will hold gift exchange and program on December 15 at 2 o'clock. Presidents will be exchanged and Christmas trees for the school will be rated early next week.

Abraham Lincoln
Yule program for the P-TA headed by Mrs. Ged Dinkler, will be staged by Lincoln students in the auditorium, 1400 East Center street, December 15 at 1:30 o'clock. Each room will participate in the program stated Principal P. S. Doane. Rhythms imitating toys and "Merry Christmas" songs will be given by Miss Marjorie Strain's kingergarten pupils. Mrs. Geraline Narramore's second grade will sing "Christmas in the Air" and "Jingle Bells" and the rhythm band will play. "All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth," and a story-play "Santa Claus" will be featured by the first and second graders instructed by Miss Ella Dana. Mrs. Bernice Jolly's second grade class will sing "Away in the Manger," "Christmas Holly" and "Up on the House-Tops."
Mrs. Helen Todd's third grade will sing "Little Town of Bethlehem" and give a Christmas story from the Bible. The fourth grade, led by Miss Adele Howard, will sing songs from the "Three Kings" and give a poem, "Santa Claus and the Mouse." Miss Mabel Barnes' fifth grade will sing "Silent Night" with descant. "Joy to the World" will be played as a bell solo with piano accompaniment by representatives from Mrs. Cecilia Barnes' sixth grade.
St. Boniface
Friday, December 16, St. Boniface pupils will hold a program in which each grade will contribute an appropriate portion. Sister Alma is in charge of over-all arrangements.
Savanna

Centralla
"Why the Chimes Rang" by Elizabeth McFadden, will be staged by children and faculty of Centralla school, 7341 East Lincoln avenue, Friday night, December 16, at 7:30 o'clock in the auditorium, it was announced by Principal Glen Dysinger.
Leading roles will be portrayed by eighth grade class members: Ronald Korn will appear as "Holger, a peasant boy;" Paul Andrus will portray "Steen, his younger brother;" Raymond Nix will be "Bertel, the uncle," and Wilhelmina Van Hunnick will appear as "an old woman." Other students will portray a priest, a knight and lords and ladies. Music will be under direction of Miss Marie Fowler; costumes, Mrs. Elizabeth Woodward assisted by Mrs. Lucile Cook; make-up, Mrs. Helen Reister; staging, Principal Dysinger and George C. Williams, and program, Miss Mary Victor.
"Christmas Around the World" was the general theme of a program given Monday by the children for the P.-T.A. The youngsters were welcomed by Mrs.Karl Korn president. Miss Fowler directed music which included carols of many lands. Mrs.Prentiss home demonstrator of the county farm bureau, spoke on "Gifts You Can Make" while "Gift Wrapping" was described by Irma Ferris of the Pilory Gift Shop of Fullerton. The children enacted a "Christmas Work Shop." Student work on display this month at the meeting was by Miss Lucile Cook's third and fourth grades. Hostesses were mesdames Karl Korn, Ross, Wanda Dixon and Arrowood.
Orangethorpe
Final rehearsals are undertaken for "Gloria," Christmas page to be staged by Anaheim Uni high school, December 15, at o'clock in the auditorium.
Co-directors for the Yule event are Mis Louise Hitt and Miss Gia Demaree. Night rehearsals being held for the choral group who will appear in the spectacle performance.
A huge cast in full costume be featured. Dub Helsing will tray the role of the prophet pro Worshipers in the temple will the Harmonettes. Shepherd order of appearance, will be Harmony Kings comprising O bottger, Dan Demaree, Du Frank and Don Myers.
Others in the cast will include Rod Wallace as Obed And shepherd; Donald Legg as Ju Stanley Claussen, Saradan,a woman from Chaldea,and J Whiteman,Elizabeth,mother John the Baptist.
Portraying the soldiers of Herod, in order of appearance be Ken Dymmel, Joe M Butch North. Heavenly messers will be Dolores Gaurdino,jie Lee Hopkins,Bonnie F Lorraine Sehr and Joyce ShuMarilyn Miller will present Madonna solo while Louis Mi ton will play Joseph.The Kings will be Duane Duncan Edwards and Jim Wright.Give the glee club will comprise therestial choir.Mozarts and Choir of Today will be portiedby the Boys' Glee club and Harmonettes.

Three-part arrangements of carols will be presented by the sixth grade instructed by Miss Gertrude Andersen.
Savanna

Stanton
Principal Butterbaugh announced also that the Stanton elementary school, in Stanton, which he heads, will stage a program next Thursday night, December 15, at 7:30 o'clock in the school auditorium.
Zion Lutheran
The Zion Lutheran parochial school youngsters will be honored guests at a P-TA sponsored potluck party tonight (Thursday) at 6 o'clock in the Parish hall, at Emily and Chartres streets, Mrs. Elwood Cordes, program chairman, stated. Mrs. R. H. Heisusan is president of the Parent-Teacher Association.
Complete with all the trimmings a Christmas party for the children will be given by the P-TA Friday, December 16, in the classroom. Each room has its own tree which was decorated by the youngsters was gay decorations provided by the P-TA. A gift exchange will be featured.
Christmas eve, December 24, the school children and Sunday school youngsters will join to present a program at 7 o'clock at the church. Walter Knigge, principal of the school, is in charge of arrangements assisted by teachers Paul Lohr and Maxine Geisert.
St. Catherine's
A Christmas party will be staged next Thursday, December 18, during the evening for boys of St. Catherine's Military Academy, 215 North Palm street, according to Major Charles Schmitt, commandant. The appearance of Santa Claus, exchange of gifts and singing of songs will top the program. Drill will be held Sunday afternoon.
Loara

Loara
Replacing the usual P-TA meeting a special program will be held at Loara school, 9461 South Loara road, Friday night at 7:30 o’clock in the auditorium, William Ross, principal, disclosed. “History of Christmas in America” is this year’s theme. Last year the youngsters presented “Christmas in Many Lands.”
All rooms will participate. Kindergarten pupils instructed by Mrs. Edna Hilton will give the prologue via songs and poems. Mrs. Virginia Critchfield’s first and second grade will tell of Christmas during Colonial times. A '49er Christmas will be portrayed by Miss Elizabeth Oberlin’s third and fourth grade. The fifth and sixth grade led by Mrs. Edith Simmons, will enact typical Yule holidays of the pilgrims while the seventh and eighth graders, instructed by Ross, will portray a modern Christmas for teen-agers.
The P-TA will introduce Santa Claus and give the children a candy treat.
Katella
Principal Martin Morocco of Katella school, 11952 East Katella avenue, announced that a program will be held on Friday, December 23, between 9 and 10 a.m. Each room will contribute to a general assembly in the auditorium. Christmas treats are being planned for the afternoon by the P-TA.

In Garden Grove
Tony Anton, former member
of the Anaheim 20-30 club, was
installed president of the newlyorganized Garden Grove 20-30
club during induction ceremonies
last Thursday evening at the Rossmore cafe, Santa Ana.
This week the bell and gavel,
a present from the Grove city
Lions club, was presented to
Anton by Burl Gist, president of
the sponsoring Anaheim club. Pete
Jacobs, expansion chairman, of
the local club assisted in awarding
the gifts.
Rupe Lawing of San Bernardino, international president of
20-30 club, presented the charter
to the new club. Other officers installed with Anton were Bob Spurrier, vice-president, and Bob Nelson, secretary-treasurer. Geo. Graziadio of Morningside Park,
southern California trustee, acted as installing officer.
Initiation of members was conducted by Roy Goggin of Inglewood, district governor, and Stan Riley of Fullerton, deputy district governor. Members of the Santa Ana 20-30 club were guests at the event.
Walter Wacker, president of the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce, spoke briefly welcoming the new organization to the community. The gong and gavel, presented this week, were promised
the new club by Dr. Karl Brigandi, representative of the Garden
Grove Lions club, during the charter dinner-program.

TO MEET SUNDAY
The men of St. Boniface Catholic parish are invited to join the Holy Name Society in attending the 7 o'clock Mass Sunday morning at the church.
BABY GIRL BORN
An eight pound, half-ounce baby daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Aguirre of La Jolla camp, Placentia, last Thursday. The infant arrived at the Orange County hospital.

CHURCH SCHOOL
Collects Gifts
Gifts for needy youngsters who long to the Navy Family Chapel on Long Beach, will be presented for Christmas distribution by children of St. Michael's Episcopal Church this Sunday morning.
Chaplain Riddle of the beach chapel revealed that many of the children at the Navy chapel are from families of low income and that their Christmas will be made much happier through the generosity of local Episcopal youngsters.
