Anaheim 2271 Placentia 317 Fullerton 232 CHRISTIAN SCIENCE The Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, will be from II Chronicles: "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him." "Ancient and Modern Necromancy, alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism, Denounced," is the subject. It is related in the Acts that the people "gave heed unto those things which Philip spake . . . For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed . . . But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewifched the people of Samaria , . . . But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also." In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "Ignorance, subtlety, or false charity does not forever conceal error; evil will in time disclose and punish itself . . . To put down the claim of sin, you must detect it, remove the mask, point out the illusion, and thus get the victory over sin and so prove its unreality." MRS. MINDER VISITS COSTA MESA COUPLE Mrs. Anna Minder, 205½ South Ohio street, and her grandson, Jimmy Kordahl of Anaheim, enjoyed an informal dinner and evening of conversation at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. Oil helps grow food for you...in Hawaii Beyond the Islands' coral beaches, behind their blue, cliff-sharp hills, lie some of the most efficiently mechanized farming areas in all the world. The pineapple you eat and much of the sugar you serve are grown, not in palmshaded tropical valleys, but on broad fields of rich, red soil...contour plowed, expertly cultivated, carefully harvested. And in all these jobs, oil plays a major part. Oil powers plows and cultivators; petroleum emulsions control weeds in fields of young cane and pineapple plants; at harvest time, huge Diesel machines rake and load 130 tons of cane an hour, and ripe pineapples are gathered on conveyor belts. Trucks and barges speed the harvest to canneries and mills. Supplying the oil Hawaii needs has been Standard of California's job ever since kerosene lamps burned in Honolulu's lighthouse. Today, this service has spread to all the Islands...provides millions of gallons of petroleum products every year...helps insure better living for the Islanders and better food for you. STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA plans ahead to serve you better
