BOOTIN' BEN STILL UNSIGNED
Bootin' Ben Agajanian this morning (Thursday) was still unsigned by an All-American conference team. The never-miss field goal and conversion kicker was out from the L. A. Dons squad Tuesday and automatically placed on a 48-hour waiver.
If not picked up by an All-American team, Ben will be a free agent and able to sign with a National League team.
Although preferring to play on the west coast where he can be close to his family in Anaheim, Agajanian, in an interview this morning (Thursday), said he wants to play football and will go wherever he can get a job.
The Chicago entry in the All-American conference were dickering with Don's magnate Lindheimer, for Ben's contract last season and wouldn't surprise the gridiron world if they snatched him sometime today.
Whether a National League team will sign him is not known although the Pittsburgh Steelers have been reported as interested.
Ben who makes his home at 900 East Alberta in Anaheim owns and operates a sporting goods store in Long Beach. He formerly operated Aggie's Sporting Goods on East Center street.
A few of the early race entries are Bunny owned by W. B. Fletcher of Hanford; Red Hot owned by Lyle Brown of Newhall; and Carmel Lady owned by Dr. A. B. Carmichael of Montebello.
The affair is open to the public, and admission of $100, tax included. Children under twelve are admitted free when accompanied by their parents.

The pint-size moundsmen was safe at first on an infield bobble, stole second and went to third on the catcher's miscue. The El Monte backstop's attempted pick-off went into the outfield allowing Billy to score the winning tally.
Anaheim jumped to a one run lead in the first inning when Frank Doretti hit a four-bagger scoring Sunny Bundy who had walked. This lead held until the sixth when El Monte tied it up with a run scored on a couple of walks and a single.
