Public Libraries Study Movie Loan Service Sacramento, (WNS)—The State Library is investigating the possibility of making motion picture films available to the public through libraries. Miss Mabel Gillis, state librarian, made this announcement today, following a conference with J. M Corey, executive secretary of the American Library Association and Patricia Blair, film adviser to the association. Both were here from Chicago. If the plan is adopted, libraries throughout the state would have films available, probably in 16 millimeter size, and on varying subjects, for the borrowing public. Miss Gillis said that such an arrangement already has been tried with phonograph records, and has been found successful. As the plans are in the preliminary stages, no details for the film distribution are available.
