Social and Club Activities LOIS REICHARD — Phone 2206 Patti Lou Klueter, Charles D. Brown Exchange Vows in Colorful Setting The romantically picturesque Little Pueblo Chapel at Chapman Park Hotel on West Wilshire boulevard, Los Angeles, was the scene Saturday, August 27, of the 2 o'clock ceremony which united in marriage, Patti Lou Klueter and Charles Duane Brown. Officiating for the double ring service was the Rev. John Kimball Saville, rector of St. Michael's Episcopal church, Anaheim. Patti, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Klueter of 3735 Huntington Drive, Pasadena, came down the white carpeted aisle, which was marked with clusters of white satin bows at the pews, with her father, who gave her in marriage. Her white satin gown was in a period design with a ruffle of Chantilly lace accenting the low shoulder line. The long fitted waist of the gown which was designed with a pointed front and buttoned back fell to a full skirt which ended in a train. The fingertip length veil was held by a pearled tiara. She carried a white prayer book on which rested an orchid surrounded with satin streamers to which were tied delicate baby glads. Her only jewels were a three strand pearl necklace and a treasured ring which fastened to the bride's finger, an heirloom handkerchief which had belonged to the bride's grandmother and had been a gift to her from Brett Hart. The ring and the handkerchief had been worn by all of the brides in the Brown family since the grandmother's time. Attendants were, Miss Grace Caraco of San Pedro, maid of honor, who has been a friend of the bride for many years. She wore a gown of pink taffeta designed with a bertha collar, short sleeves and a full skirt. A large garden hat and an arm bouquet of tuberous begonias in a shade matching the gown completed her costume. In a hooped skirt fashioned of white organdy and carrying a white basket filled with rose petals, little Miss Charlene Eubank, and the ring bearer, Steven Piper, in a blue linen suit with short der the gold crucifix on the large stained glass jeweled star hung over rail at which the bride knelt for the blessing "The Lord's Prayer" sung by Miss Edith Brown friend of the bride's, or Her other songs were for the young couple "Pale Loved" and "Because." Music was by the organist Thomas' Episcopal churchengales. After the ceremony they and Mrs. Brown received many friends and related reception held in the basement of Lucca's Restaurant, les. Mrs. Palin wore a smart afternoon dress in black crepe and satin. Her black satin hat and accessories complemented her gown. They both wore corsages of orchids. Nellie Vaveallas Weds San Diego Man In Sunday Services At a 4 o'clock service performed Sunday afternoon at the Puente Community church, Miss Nellie Vaveallas, daughter of Mrs. David Loofbourro of Puente, became the bride of Louis Ram-Linde of San Diego. The former Miss Vaveallas is the niece of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gledhill of this city. Mrs. Gledhill Mad-Cap Mae—It's lovely Mae Ross, one of the great stars of the Shipstads and Johnson Ice Follies of 1950, which has its world premiere at the Pan-Pacific, Sept. 8. Leonard Collings, Bride Establish Home in Eagle Rock Now making their home in Eagle Rock following the return from their honeymoon trip to Idyllwild are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Burton Collings. The pair exchanged marriage vows on Friday evening, August 19, at a service performed in the small chapel of the First Congregational church of Ontario with the Reverend Head, pastor of the church, officiating. Before leaving for their honeymoon trip to Lake Arrowhead, the bride and groom cut and shared the first piece of the white tiered wedding cake which centered the bride's table. As her going away ensemble the bride chose a smartly tailored suit of burgundy gabardine, cut with a wide waistband and falling to a pull peplum which set off the pencil slim skirt. Her matching hat had a bowler crown with a small halo brim and a short veil. She wore the orchid from her bridal bouquet pinned to her jacket shoulder. The new Mrs. Brown formerly attended San Marino Hall for Girls and is a graduate of Palm Springs high school. Mr. Brown attended the Anaheim schools and graduated frdm the Southern California Military Academy, Long Beach, and the Army and Navy Academy at Carlsbad, with the rank of captain. He attended the University of Idaho at Moscow and Fullerton Junior college. He is now in the auditing department of the Guarantee Insurance company, Los Angeles. On their return from their honeymoon they will establish temporary residence at the Brown home in Anaheim, until their Los Angeles home is ready for them. Local Sponsors At Organization of Fullerton Altrusa Attending as the sponsoring group of the organization meeting, held Monday at the Moose hall, of the Altrusa club of Fullerton were Claire Larson, Carrie Lou Sutherland and Hildred Ferrell, past presidents of the local organization. Altrusa is a classified service club for women in executive positions in business, educational and professional fields. Both the chapel and the church parlor, where the reception was held, were beautifully decorated with baskets of lovely white blossoms, potted palms, fern and lighted candles in tall candelabra. A traditional white tiered wedding cake centered the bride's table. The proud parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Miller of Ontario and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Collings of 746 North Claudina street, Anaheim, joined the newly-weds in the receiving line. Mrs. Miller was wearing a navy blue afternoon dress. The bridegroom's mother appeared in a gray suit ensemble. White flowers complimented their costumes. Mr. Collings will be remembered as being an active student of the Anaheim Union high school campus being vice-president of the student body, a leader of the Colonist Knights, Hi-Y and other school organizations. He is a graduate of Occidental college from where he received his Master of Economics degree. The new Mrs. Collings attended the Chaffey Union high school, graduating with the class of 1946. She will enroll this fall with the senior class at Occidental college. W. B. Holland's Leave for Laguna Beach W. B. Holland’s Leave for Laguna Beach Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Holland are leaving Anaheim this week to take up residence in their new home in Laguna Beach. Their home at 726 North Zeyn street has been sold to St. Michael's Episcopal church for their pastor's home. Mr. Holland owned and operated an electrical business at 130 South Lemon street which was recently sold to Arnold Howard. After being in business here for thirty years the Hollands plan to take a much needed vacation, relaxing and getting their new home in order before thinking of other business investments. Forbes Family Home from Vacation Trip Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Forbes with their children, Phil and Jane, returned this week to their home at 741 North Sabina street from a two week's vacation trip. While away they visited points of interest in Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Oklahoma, seeing the Royal Gorge, Boulder Dam, and Las Vegas. Highlight of the trip was being in attendance at the fifteenth wedding anniversary celebration honoring Mrs. Forbes parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Casey of Pryor, Oklahoma. The new Mrs. Ram-Linde will enter the University of California in Berkeley for her final term this fall. Her husband will teach in Richmond. Some folks get so mad at their officials they threaten to vote. Gledhill Home Scene of Surprise Birthday Party Pink candles on the cake and pink hybiscus as the center piece, were used by Mrs. Jack Gledhill of 411 North Emily street, to decorate for an informal luncheon and surprise party to honor her little nephew, Bobby Holl on his birthday, Monday. Bobby, his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. William Holl, his sister and brother, Elizabeth Ann and William, Jr., and his cousin, Lynn Hollman, all of Los Angeles, enjoyed the birthday cake and ice cream and the special little lollypop cowboys which Mrs. Gledhill served for party refreshments. WILLIAMS' BOY Mr. and Mrs. Julius Williams of 1034 Kemp's street, Anaheim, are proud parents of a 6-pound, 13-ounce baby boy. The son was born at the Orange County hospital on August 25.
