Flores Fights Semi-Windup At Hollywood
Sal Flores, promising Anaheim middleweight, jumps up another rung on the fistic ladder to success when he moves from the preliminary ranks to the semi-final spot to take on Morrie McFarland at Hollywood Legion stadium Friday.
Flores earned the spot by virtue of his KO over Hal Nelson two weeks ago in the same ring. It marked the local boy's return to action after a three-month lay-off.
The two middleweights fought to a draw a while back when both were amateurs. It will be their first meeting since turning professional.
Headlining the weeks card at the filmland arena is a ten round lightweight contest between Golden Boy Art Aragon and Bolton Ford. Aragon, currently enthroned in the prima donna's chair by the area fistic fans, has run an impressive KO record of 20 in 40 fights. Of these, 12 were put to sleep in the first round.
Baron Von Stumme, the bewhiskered gent who arranges the Friday night shindig at the Peroxide Palace has rounded out this week's card with the following four rounds:

Bethel Baptist Beats White Temple, 4-2
Bethel Baptist moved into the finals of the Church League playoffs by virtue of their 4-2 win over White Temple in the City Park last evening.
The winners bunched all of their runs in a big fifth inning when they pushed four runs across home plate. Tallies came off a double by Bill Acton, a four-bagger by Bob Quast, a walk, a single by Ted Wedel and a triple by Al Hartman.
White Temple drew first blood in the tight play-off game in the third inning with a single run scored on a walk, fielder's choice and a single by Don Rees.
They scored another in the seventh on a single by K. Herman, a fielders choice and a single by Bob Hamilton.

Burbank, El Sereno For Legion Tour
It will be Burbank game of the Anaheim J tomorrow night (Friday).
Both teams went to the pionship rung with semi-final ties last evening. Burbank ped Fullerton 7-6 in a wide contest and El Sereno Compton 11-4.
Fullerton scored four runs the final frame and had the run on third when the final was made. Burbank outshirer's 8 to 2 and misplayed once while Fullerton had 8.
El Sereno in winning brinx that the lads from Co had held over them in 18th trict play this year. In two played the Compton team has feated the junior legionnaire El Sereno.
Odds don't exist for the pionship tustle—it's strict flip a coin and take your sort of a game.

Anaheim Cadets Awarded Expert Rifleman's Medals
Donald C Barnett, 17, of 607 South Palm and Alfred E. Lattin, 15, of 1204 West Pearl, won the Expert Rifleman's Medal, according to an announcement by the National Rifle Association, governing body of competitive rifle and pistol shooting of the United States.
Both riflemen have climbed steadily through the 13 lower rankings and need only one more to reach the top drawer of the junior shooters—the Distinguished

Burbank, El Sereno Meet Friday For Legion Tourney Championship
It will be Burbank and El Sereno in the championship game of the Anaheim Junior American Legion tournament tomorrow night (Friday) at La Palma park.
Both teams went to the championship ring with semi-final victories last evening. Burbank toped Fullerton 7-6 in a wide-open contest and El Sereno socked Pompton 11-4.
Fullerton scored four runs in the final frame and had the tying run on third when the final out was made. Burbank outhit the Compton's 8 to 2 and misplayed only twice while Fullerton had 8 boots.
El Sereno in winning broke a box that the lads from Compton held over them in 18th district play this year. In two games played the Compton team had defeated the junior legionnaires from Sereno.
Odds don't exist for the championship turtle—it's strictly "a coin and take your pick," sort of a game.

Grace Lutheran Wins 13-Inning Play-Off, 2-1
Grace Lutheran came out on top of a thirteen inning turtle with Church of Christ In a Church League play-off, 2-1, in a game in which all runs scored were unearned.
Fred Liebe slammed a line drive through the right fielder for a home run and the game for Grace Lutheran in the bottom half of the 13th.
Both teams will see action again Monday evening with the winner meeting Bethel Baptist in the
