Predict Small Orange Crop In 1949-50
Los Angeles, Aug. 4—It is doubtful that the 1949-50 crop of California oranges will be any larger than normal, according to an article in the August issue of "Citrus Leaves," which is on the press.
The Mutual Orange Distributors publication says that following the January freeze, statisticians came forth with the opinion that history would repeat itself and that the 1949-50 California orange crop would be much larger than the 1948-49 crop in prospect prior to the freeze. They based their conclusions upon the fact that following previous freezes production jumped tremendously.

The Los Angeles vice scandal was the subject of the Anaheim Toastmasters club Monday evening at La Palma Grill with president Victor Huber presiding over the business session and acting as table topic chairman.
Patterson trophy honors went to W. E. Dixon, Jr., who spoke five minutes on "Don't Worry." His individual critic was Al Holve. For his presentation of "Railroad Fans" Ed Wright, criticized by Holve, won the Optimist trophy.
Holve discussed "Pioneering with a Modern Twist" for 12 minutes. Louls Taylor acted as critic.
Grammarian was Page Vincent. Don Dunkin acted as timekeeper.
Next week's assignments will be mailed out according to club secretary Wright.
