A university president has defined faith as that which fortifies us to meet the inevitabilities of life and to withstand anything that can happen to us. When Jesus was facing the cross, which meant shame, ignominy, and death, His final word was one of good cheer—"I have overcome the world." The Church nurtures our faith. Why not accept the invitation and COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY? —Rev. D. Carl Yoder. Our Preacher Says Is it our duty to help everybody who needs help? The answer is time, wisdom, and strength, and if we undertake to help everybody, we shall soon be helping nobody. We need to be guided by the principle to help those first who need help most and go down the line as far as possible. Catalogue the list, such as those who are discouraged and need a word of cheer, those who are tempted and need a guide, those who are seeking to live at their best but are faltering, those in sorrow, the sick, the aged. But, "help somebody today." DO KOU KNOW ... 1. What are some of the musical instruments mentioned in the Psalms? 2. Who introduced the Psalms in meter to the Christian church? 3. What modern chorus corresponds to the Songs of Praise in the Psalms? 4. Who wrote it? 5. Finish this sentence, "Jehovah is merciful and gracious..." DO YOU KNOW ANSWERED ... 1. Organs, trumpets, timbrels, stringed instruments, high sounding cymbals. 2. John Calvin. 3. The Halleluiah Chorus. 4. Handel. 5. Slow to anger and plenious in mercy. A survey of fire causes revealed tobacco and matches account for 32 percent of all forest blazes. The next most frequent cause is careless burning of trash, which accounts for 20.4 percent of forest fires. The survey results also debunk some widely believed facts about fires. The area adjacent to highways is not the spot where most fires originate. The study shows most forest fires are caused close to dwellings and spread into remote areas. Transients passing through forest and brush areas are not responsible for these fires for the survey reveals that persons living in the immediate area of the blaze cause 68 percent of the fires. Transients cause only 10.2 per cent with the remaining blazes resulting from lightning and other non-human causes. In the same category, the forestry department concluded that incendiarists are not responsible for the bulk of fires. The account for a lowly 3.6 percent who dren playing with matches an estimated 7.7 percent blazes. The lumbering industry with a clean bill of health ing only 2.3 percent of its spite year-round operation ber-and brush land. The group, under the supervision of Mrs. Dorothy Tait, is making an intensive study of Mexican customs, songs and dances. The university visitors were particularly intrigued by the live-ly songs and dances of the State of Sonora interpolated in the action of the play and forming the opening program of the Jamaica carnival in the patio, which features novel Mexican games and refreshments. for a lowly 3.6 percent while children playing with matches started an estimated 7.7 percent of the blazes.
