'Mr. and Mrs. North' Is Next At Holiday Stage Holiday Stage producers Mennes and Turney have just signed the lovely screen star, Brenda Joyce, to play Mrs. North in the famous mystery-comedy. "Mr. and Mrs. North" on the Tustin stage next week. Heading the cast with Miss Joyce are John Alvin and Peter Adams of the resident company. Brenda Joyce is remembered for her stellar performance in "The Rains Came," a 20th Century-Fox picture made from the Louis Bromfield novel. Since that time she has completed several films for that studio, five more for Universal, and a series of adventure romances. An engaging and beautiful actress, Miss Joyce stepped easily from the campus of UCLA into professional modeling, and thence into screen stardom. Mr. Alvin will enact the role of Mr. North, beleagured husband of a flighty wife, and Mr. Adams will play the baffled and confused detective. "Mr. and Mrs. North" is the laugh-and-suspense nilled play which started an entire series on the air and has delighted millions. The Holiday Stage production is slated to run from July 25 through 30, following the current showing of the Broadway hit, "The Heiress." Generously spread puréed avocado on hot freshly buttered toast. Top with a slice of crisp oacon. Slip under the broiler until heated through. Anaheim Men Purchase Cafe Two local men, Roy C. Copeland and Arthur R. Lamb, have purchased and assumed management of the 110 Bar and Cafe, Placentia, owned for the past year by Paul Ortega. In the business transaction, the license to sell mixed drinks was not sold and was removed from Placentia by Ortega who expects to locate in another city. Since the State Board of Equalization no longer issues this type of license, the deal leaves Placentia minus a bar eligible to sell mixed beverages. Otherwise the 110 Cafe will be operated as usual with the management continuing with licenses for sale of wine and beer.
