SOCIETY and CLUB ACTIVITIES (Continued from Page 3) Herman Hoch, Bride Wed in Garden Rites Before a candlelit garden altar arranged with lilac and white gladioli, Mrs. Martha M. Redpath, 232 East Wilshire avenue, Fullerton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Milligan of Olathe, Kansas, and Herman H. Hoch, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Klein, 15381 Anaheim road, Anaheim, repeated their marriage vows at Capilla de San Antonio with the Rev. A. J. Casebeer, pastor of the Church of Christ, this city, officiating, Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Gowned in lilac and frosted organdy fashioned with a long skirt, short puff sleeves and low decollete, the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, O. A. Hunt of Yermo, California. Her parents were unable to attend the ceremony. The bride carried white orchids resting on a white bible. She wore a picture hat. Matron of honor was Mrs. Mary Pickard of Anaheim, cousin of the bride, wearing a gown of pale green organdy and carrying a bouquet of pink blossoms. Serving as best man was Arthur N. Yates, a brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Ushers included Fred Klein, brother of the bridegroom, Werner Walter, another brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Organ music for the double-ring ceremony was played by Frank Redpath, son of the bride. A reception was held in the Capilla garden immediately following the wedding, with Mrs. Fred Klein of Anaheim, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Everett Pickard of Goleta, California, cousin of the bride, assisting with hostess duties. After cutting and sharing the first piece of their three-tiered wedding cake topped with a wedding bell, the couple left for a short honeymoon to Santa Catalina Island. Upon their return they will reside at 232 East Wilshire avenue, Fullerton. For traveling the new Mrs. Hoch chose a white shantung suit worn with a shell-pink blouse and hat, white accessories and her bridal orchids. The bridegroom, a member of the Anaheim Toastmasters club, is associated with the KwiKset Lock Company, this city. A baby daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Percy Groover, 120 South West street, Friday at Fullerton General hospital. She was featured subsequently, in many notables New York musical hits with Cotton Webb (Mr. Belvedere of motion picture fame), Ed Wynn the late Will Rogers. Success came to her as the dancing team-mate of Fred Astaire in "The Divorcee." We show our spiritual state by the way in which we spend our leisure time and our Sabbath. We indicate whether we are fit for God's business by our use of the flowing stream of literature. If we are busily engaged with God's plan for our life, we shall have neither the time nor the disposition for the cheap and tawdry of life. Next Sunday will be a test of our spiritual life. Why not accept the invitation and COME TO CHURCH NEXT SUNDAY? —Rev. D. Carl Yoder. Our Preacher Says The kind of life we live depends on the kind of choices we make between the spiritual and the material. After that choice is made, the direction of life is fixed. Events deepen the decision, so there is experienced briefs and joys, disappointments and victories, as every life must have. For that choice makes character and character makes happiness.
