Red Cross Plans Blood Program Orange county participation in the National Blood Program of the American Red Cross were completed Tuesday when the four county chapters met at the Northern Orange county headquarters in Fullerton, at the invitation of Mrs. Albert Launer, chairman. John Bradley, president of the council of Orange county presided and Mrs. Tess Potter, national blood program representative from Pacific area office, San Francisco, acted as consultant to the group. Endorsed by the Orange County Medical Society and all the hospitals in the county, the program is expected to supply whole blood to all patients without cost, spokesmen stated. This service has already been acknowledged as of value in many towns and cities throughout the nation, Mrs. Potter stressed. Participation in the program in the county will begin June 7 when the first blood donor center will be held in Santa Ana by the Southern Orange County chapter followed by a visit in Fullerton by the north county chapter on June 24. Dates for the other chapters will be set later. Need for whole blood is highly evident upon evidence of a detailed survey, Bradley said. He added that immediate and adequate blood will be assured by this program to a much greater extent than the "walking blood bank" system used by hospitals and doctors in the county now. Blood collected in this area will be used in the hospitals of this county, he emphasized. Attending the session from this city were Mrs. Leo J. Friis, Anaheim chapter chairman. 15 Day Camping Limit at State Parks in County Sacramento (WNS) — Camping at Doheny Beach and San Clementa Beach State Parks will be limited to 15 days from June 1 to September 7, the State Division of Beaches and Parks has announced. The 15-day limit, replacing the old limit of 30 days, has been made effective to permit increased attendance, already high for this time of year. Most of the state beaches and parks will retain the old 30-day limit. But the two listed are 'the only ones in Orange county which have been restricted, the division said. Americans used to freeze mince pies immediately after baking. Reservations must be made for the event by Friday morning, May 6, with Leonard Schwacofer, 338 West Center street, Anaheim, the president said.
