Ahlstrom, 534 South Indiana street, Anaheim, and Roger M. Harlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Harlow, 306 East Broadway, Anaheim, plighted their troth last Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock with the Rev. Thomas L. Burden, former pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Rollo Dunham, current pastor, officiating for the double-ring, semi-formal rites. The bride was lovely in a gown of heavy white satin, fashioned with a high sheer neckline accented with a wide ruffle of chantilly lace at the shoulder-line. The satin peplum at either side of her very full skirt was set off by chantilly lace continuing down the long train in two parallel ruffles. The front of her hooped skirt was caught up in several places displaying frothy chantilly lace. Her elbow-length full veil cascaded from a Juliet cap. Given in marriage by her father, the bride carried a large white orchid with a crimson throat surrounded by white carnations and stephanotis. Traditional sentiment was found in her mother's pearls. A rehearsal party climaxed a series of pre-nuptial courtesies honoring the bride during the past few weeks. Richards-Martin Dance Pageant Big Success Tableaux by tableaux the annual Richards-Martin dance pageant unfolded in an artistic blend of vivid costuming, lighting and precision timing, in a benefit performance for the YMCA Youth Fund, Tuesday night at the Anaheim Union high school auditorium. The program was announced by Ralph A. Rogers and Sentinel Productions, Hollywood. Despite the illness of Mrs. L. Noir Martin, for the past seven weeks, well known director of the local dance school, the program lived up to its reputation as outstanding theatrical highlight. Little Bonnie Ann Walker, the flower girl, was clad in a frock of sheer white marquisette similar in style to the bride's. Her sweetheart hat was white and she carried a white flower basket filled with white sweet peas. Charles Robert Cunningham, nephew of the bride, wearing a dark blue suit, carried the two rings on a white satin pillow tied with a satin bow. Serving as best man was Douglas Harlow with H. L. Looney, James Burdeh and Richard Harris acting as ushers. Nuptial soloist William Fackiner sang "I Love Thee," "Because" and "Prayer Perfect" accompanied by Mrs. Fackiner who played the prelude for the ceremony. Immediately following the nuptials, the reception was held in the church social hall. Exquisite blossoms and lighted tapers surrounded the five-tier cake topped with a miniature bridal couple. More than 400 relatives and guests were welcomed by the parents of the young couple. Mrs. Ahlstrom chose a pink lace formal worn with camellias. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Harlow, was attired in a poudre-blue formal worn with a corsage of pink carnations. Attend Campus Day at Whittier Local visitor to Whittier college during the Poet school's annual Junior College Campus Day, was Miss Greta Kunz, 713 North Paulina street, Anaheim. A Fullerton Junior college co-ed, Miss Kunz and other visiting students enjoyed conducted tours of the Whittier college campus following registration, then were welcomed by Dr. William C. Jones, president of the college. A panel of six of the host institution's students, all transfers from junior colleges, told the visiting delegates about "Life at Whittier College." The visitors were given an opportunity to meet members of the college faculty in the fields of study in which they were most interested. The serving of refreshments completed the afternoon program. To Enter 23rd One-Act Play Tournament The Anaheim Junior Theater guild will present "The Undercurrent" competing with other amateur groups on the opening night of the twenty-third annual one-act play tournament, to be held this year, April 20, under sponsorship of the Santa Ana Community Players, at the Ebell clubhouse, that city. Judges for the tourney will include Harold Turney of Holiday Stage, Walter Prill of Orange Coast college and Lois Rees Auer, expression teacher. L. M. Pickel, co-chairman of the fund drive, thanked solicitors for their civic work and contributors for their generosity. He also commended his co-chairmen, Howard Loudon and Harry Horn, for their work in the campaign. Forty-two gift boxes prepared by Fremont Junior high school were shipped to the area office in San Francisco for distribution abroad, Mrs. Leo Friis, chapter chairman, stated. Mrs. Emory Simon, volunteer services chairman, reported that 15 workers gave 140 hours of work during the month. A first aid class, taught by Mrs. Josephine Fulfer is well underway, it was announced. Home service reported 38 cases open during the month, eight of which were new and three reopened. Service was given in 19 cases. There were 43 office callers and five home calls made. Financial assistance was given four veterans and two servicemen. The first commercial factories to make plywood were erected in Russia in the 1880's. Business Women Attend 'Turnabout' Theatre on Friday About twenty members of the Business and Professional Woman's club spent an enjoyable evening last Friday attending the "Turnabout" theater presentation and dinner at Bit 'o Sweden on Sunset boulevard in Los Angeles. Of especial interest was the presentation of the Yale Puppeteers presenting a modern day version of Noah's Ark and another scene in a drawing room, three musicians presenting a musicale. The timing of the puppets with the musical score was in perfect accord, the movements of the pianist in perfect rhythm with the accompaniment on the piano. Following the intermission, stage presentation starring M. Lancaster was in the nature of variety show and vaudeville and caused much merrimack among the capacity crowd. This event was one of seven enjoyed during the year by members of the organization as an added feature to the twice a month meetings.
