Social and Club Activities GRACE THOMPSON—Phone 2206 Beverly Brokaw-Robert Barnes Wed in Pasadena Ceremony In an impressive semi-formal ceremony, Miss Beverly Gibson Brokaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clermont Scott Brokaw of Pasadena, became the bride of Robert Samuel Barnes, son of Mrs. Joseph Walters, 625 North Zeyn street, Anaheim, and the late Henry Erwin Barnes of Anaheim, Sunday afternoon in the Valley Hunt club, Pasadena, with Dr. Franklin L. Gibson reading the rites. The young couple repeated their marriage vows before the large windows of the huge drawing room of the club, which were draped with white satin flanked by tall urns arranged with magnolia leaves and gardenias. The bride was lovely in a gown of white French Chantilly lace over ice blue satin. Her fingertip veil cascaded from a wreath of stephanotis. Given in marriage by her father, she carried a shower bouquet of white orchids and lilies of the valley. Accenting the beauty of her gown was its tightly fitted bodice, decollette neckline accented with a deep lace collar and long sleeves daintily pointed at the wrist. The very full ballerina skirt had a narrow matching satin sash: Attendants to the bride were Mrs. Hunter Robbins of Berkeley who was matron of honor, Mrs. John Jensen of Beverly Hills, Miss Olive Richardson of Flintridge and Miss Betty Rumpham of Pasadena. They carried clusters of orchids tinted to match their gowns. Brother of the bridgroom, Lt. Col. Edgar Barnes of the United States Marine Corps served as best man. Ushers included Robert Brokaw, the bride's brother; Keith Pinion of Stockton: William Helling of Beverly Hills; Howard Hoffman of Atherton; George Stemple of San Rafael; Frederick Weisel of Palo Alto, and Charles Hutchinson of San Francisco. Background music for the reception in the ball room, which was attended by 400 relatives and guests immediately following the ceremony, was played by a string orchestra. The bride's mother, Mrs. Brokaw, chose a smoke gray crepe gown worn with matching accessories and a corsage of violets on her bag. Mrs. Walters, the bridegroom's mother, chose a gown of Mediterranean blue lace. She wore a mauve touque hat and had a clus- honeymoon at Palm Springs and Del Monte, the newlyweds will reside in Los Altos.
