(Savings Bonds Sales Increase)
Southern Californians invested $540,794 more in Series "E" United States savings bonds last month than in February, 1948, J. B. Messick, director of Treasury bond sales for this area, reported yesterday.
E-Bond sales were $15,-116,080, while $8,187,269 invested in Series "F's" and "G's" brought the month's grand total to $23,-303,349, compared with $14,575,286 "E's" and $8,524,381 "F's" and
"G's" for a total of $23,099,667 February, 1948.
Orange county's total U.S. Savings Bonds sales last month was $648,684.50, of which $391,288.50 went into Series "E."
Messick said that the U. S. savings bonds division is encouraged by the upward trend in Series "F's" sales as reflected in both the January and February reports this year. Largely responsible for the increase, he believes, is the active support now being given by the management of many companies to the payroll savings plan for regular bond buying by employees and continuous effort by the bank in promoting bond sales to t...

Social Security Credit Available Upon Request
How much money do you have credited to you under your social security number? Do you know how important it is to find out? Do you know that a free post card for this purpose is yours for the asking?
These and other questions were being asked today by J. G. Bretherton, manager of the Long Beach Social Security administration office at 423 Jergins Trust building. Bretherton stated that few people realize they can get a statement of their wages from the Social Security administration. Such statements include all wages paid under Social Security. That means since January 1, 1937. Such information is yours for the asking. If you don't ask at least once every four years, the statute of limitation period, then the wages posted to your credit may be considered correct and permanent for all future purposes. If you do inquire within the four-year period and you find an error in your account, your local office will assist you in straightening the matter out.
"Thousands of dollars in 'wage credits' have been saved for workers Social Security accounts by employees sending in the request card we furnish and calling any discrepancy to our attention," Bretherton said.
Most of these errors are caused by new employees giving their employers their social security number should be copied from the Social Security card.
The amount of wages posted to the worker's account, Bretherton added, has a definite bearing on the amount of old-age or survivors benefits payable. It could mean the difference between receiving and not receiving any benefits at all.
