National Church Man Will Speak Dr. Jesse H. Baird, moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian church, U.S.A., will speak at the First Presbyterian church in Orange, February 18, Friday night, at 7:45 o'clock. The guest speaker holds the highest office in the Presbyterian church this year, church spokesmen stated. In addition to his national post in the assembly, he is president of the San Francisco Theological Seminary. Last summer he was one of the delegates from the United States to the World Council of Churches at Amsterdam, Holland, when the World Council was formally established. At the meeting in the Orange church next week, he will be accompanied by the 44-voice choir of the San Francisco Theological Seminary. ANAHEIM HARPIST HEARD IN CONCERT A talented young harpist, Sharon Williams, 11 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest M. Williams of 707 North Los Angeles street, Anaheim, was presented in her first concert at the Long Beach YMCA Sunday afternoon. She is the student of the well-known harpist, Harriet Wood, of Long Beach, who received her training with the famous French harpist, Marcel Grandjany. JOINT MEETING SET FOR REALTY BOARDS Ed Wallace, president of the California Board of Realtors, will attend a joint meeting of the Anaheim, Fullerton and Santa Ana Boards of Realtors, February 22, beginning with a 6:30 o'clock dinner at the Santa Ana Junior college. Eugene Conser, secretary of the state organization, will also be present. President of the local board is Paul T. Havens. ANNUAL ILLINOIS LINCOLN-DAY PICNIC The forty-third annual Illinois Lincoln-Day picnic will be held next Saturday in Bixby Park, Long Beach, with a program beginning at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, David B. Fergus, 69 years old, passed away at the home 419 North Emily street, on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Born in Michigan had been a resident of this since 1920. President Stephens will head the board to which Ernie Bullock, Walter Gooden, Hursel Snyder and Tom Yellis were elected. Thomas E. Hefferand, Santa Ana attorney and former member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, was guest speaker. The ex-F.B.I. man gave dynamic accounts of several exploits in which he was involved while working for the government. He told of the tracing of a truck load of cigarettes which were stolen in the east and then hidden in a Michigan farm house. Arrest was possible because the stolen goods when set afire, only smouldered rather than burned. Louis Larson of the senior advisory committee announced that the Anaheim Optimist club would have contestants in the oratorical contest to be sponsored by va- ing the "Reber Plan" for ten minutes. Evaluator was C. O. Garshwiler assisted by John Knutzen, Earl E. Smith and W. E. Sullivan. Bob Allen was grammarian. Next week's program as assigned is as follows: Vic Huber presentation of five words to be added to members' vocabularies; C. O. Garshwiler, table topic master; Hank Allen, toastmaster; Ken Heuler, evaluator; Bob Allen, grammarian, and Louis Taylor, Marion Pickle, Jack Thompson and Dr. Brock Roberts, speakers. Special guests are expected to be two speakers from the San Clemente club, and their wives. Donoso Rites Held Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Felisitas Donoso, 57, who died Saturday night at the family home, 10972 South Cedar street, Stanton, after a prolonged illness, were conducted at the Stanton church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. A native of Mexico, she had lived in California for 18 years the past seven of which she resided in Stanton where she is a member of the Stanton Methodist church. Surviving are her husband Teodoro Donoso, and a Alfonso Ramos of Stanton. The body lay in state at family home Monday evening. Interment was in the Westin Memorial Park. Constitution," presented by Don Butka. Earl E. Smith presented a dynamic analysis of the value of Toastmastering to legislators and state representatives. He based his speech on a newspaper article. Trujillo has been waiting for the customer, who entered the store, made a purchase, then forgot a large sum of money on the counter, to return.
