Yorba Lindan Heads Nation’s Farm Youth Expressing a firm belief that to youth lies our future, Herbert Warren of Yorba Linda was given leadership of farm youth in what was named the junior division of the country-wide organization by the farm bureau which plans to see a highly active program. The quiet-spoken Yorba Lindan returned from the national farm bureau convention in Atlantic City more than a week ago, saying nothing about the high honor he had received. Last year he became the youngest president in the history of the Orange County Farm Bureau. When queried about his current program he stated that it was one chiefly of organization in the beginning, adding that farm youth are organized in only 27 states. Warren said his program would call for extension of farm youth activities to all states in which the farm bureau operates. An overall program is needed urgently, he remarked. Only five or six years old, the junior organization is designed for those on farms who have come up through 4-H and Future Farmers of America, but who are not quite ready for active participation in the senior farm bureau. This program may be compared with a Chamber of Commerce and a Junior chamber. The junior bureau keeps its identity and is an independent organization. A training institute in Paducah, Kentucky, will begin soon to which all rural youth showing capacity for leadership may be put through an intensified course. up through 4-H and Future Farmers of America, but who are not quite ready for active participation in the senior farm bureau.
