Optimists' Yule Dinner Tonight
Boys will be boys according to members of the Senior Optimists who are flocking to the annual boys dinner being held as a joint junior and senior event at Mother's Kitchen tonight (Thursday), with senior president J. W. Stephens presiding.
Santa Claus will appear in person to distribute gifts and candy among members of the recently organized Junior Optimists club. Edward Van Zee, member of the Junior Optimist advisory board, stated that rapid progress is being made by the youngsters in their project of repairing and painting used toys to brighten the Christmas day for less fortunate children.
Marvin Mason is acting as master of ceremonies for tonight's program for which varied entertainment is scheduled.
The junior club is meeting each Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Evangelical United Brethren church bungalow and each Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the Orange County Craft Shop on East Center street.

The new cases included a child of nine from Costa Mesa, one of six from South Laguna Beach and another of six from Laguna Beach. The last case was reported to the department last Friday but the disease appeared November 29.

Dr. Edward Lee Russell, county health officer, though the drop in the incidence in the disease this week was due to the fact that the contagion had about run its course in this part of the state. He gave that more credit for halting the epidemic than the frosts which have occurred in the county in the past few days.
