Grandmother
Up with Times
Proud of her beautiful silver plaque awarded for the best woman's individual costume at the Hallowe'en breakfast is Mrs. Louis O. Peterson of 118 South Olive street.
A grandmother in her sixties, Mrs. Peterson argues that the slogan, "Life Begins at Forty," is a limitation. She created her own prize winning costume, finishing it before October 1. Following the Silver Anniversary theme she chose a long black taffeta skirt trimmed in silver. Silver letters saying "Silver Anniversary" were inscribed on her orange blouse which was accented with silver collar and cuff trimming. Her hat was a black felt bonnet trimmed in silver flowers and orange bows and satin streamers. Her silver slippers boasted big silver buckles.
Active in special city events, Mrs. Peterson has attended every Hallowe'en breakfast to be held here to date.
Her many friends extend congratulations and applaud her statement, "I've travelled for 20 years, there's no place like Anaheim, and I ought to know."
"Life begins at 60, now," she added.
