SOCIETY and CLUB ACTIVITIES
(Continued from Page 3)
Concert Service of New York, organizer of the Fullerton program for the two preceding seasons and for concert series in scores of cities throughout the country.
Several well-known artists have been selected tentatively for the coming series which will feature five programs rather than four, as of last year, Mrs. Alexander disclosed.
Time and place for the dinner to be attended by 150 concert association members, boosters and the press will be announced later.
Admission to the Fullerton concerts, to be held in the high school auditorium there, will be closed after the week's membership drive is concluded.
Season tickets will be honored at many other theaters and auditoriums out-of-town, which will stage Columbia sponsored artist programs, if capacity houses have not been realized following the close of their respective membership drives, she continued.
In this vicinity, Columbia concerts will be found at Newport Beach, Downey, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Excelsior high school (between Artesia and Norwalk), Santa Ana, Corona, Azusa and Monrovia.
Last year, according to board members, more than 300 Anaheim residents had memberships to the highly popular series.
Graduate from Pomona College With High Honors
Two honor students, Miss Mary Burden of Anaheim and Miss Esmeralda Lewis at the pre-fall showing in the eastern metropolis, according to Miss Millerick.
The same basic modes highly flattering to the feminine figure remain constant, she said, but have a new dramatic treatment. Full skirts definitely remain popular. Soft lines and new draped accents are being inaugurated, however.
Early in July, a large representative assortment of latest ensembles for smart women will arrive at the Millerick shop. Included will be French hats. These chapeaux are of a bewitching nature, eternally feminine. French veiling which may tie beneath the chin or back under a chignon and short veils in matching or contrasting tones are worn with pastel as well as black and white creations. Most fall hats are designed to be worn at an angle.
New color combination in wearing apparel include mixing black with brown, purple with gray and combining midnight purple with black.
The modified fullness of fall creations are being shown in new tones of midnight purple, winter navy, vintage reds, brown earth, bleige and gold. Black is used and is predominately smart with all colors for fall.
Lengths of skirts remain the same with formals being fashioned with the back draping on the floor. Dinner and cocktail dresses are to be worn from seven and one-half to eight inches from the floor. Skirts of tailored dresses and suits are approximately 12 inches from the floor.

Tells of Fall Fashion Trends
Femininity and elegance will accent this fall's smart styles for women, according to Mary Millerick, owner of the Mary Millerick style shop on East Center street, who, with her business associate, Mrs. Grace Bernard of Anaheim, returned from a three-week bi-annual buying trip to New York during market week.
While in New York, they resided at the Hotel Astor, returning here via American Airline, refreshed by the change of climate and different surroundings despite a whirl of previewing fall styles of foremost designers in this country and attending press banquets.
