Spring has been most tempting through many a western high school window...and now that the "Big Day" is close at hand, thousands of young men are murmuring, "Me for the outdoors. After graduation, I'm going to relax...for a little while"...
Not a bad idea, young man!
And, if you haven't yet decided where you are going from here...think about it while you're relaxing.
If it's a job you want...a real career that'll offer you security, travel, regular advancement, top pay and opportunities for training in dozens of fields...consider a "job" with your Army or Air Force.
Talk it over with the fellows at your neighborhood recruiting office...probably you know them. They'll give you all the details of careers with a future for you.

Issues for further study of the and mouth disease in Mexico
The Senate committee on live diseases have been announced.
Senator George J. Hatfield of died, who last year toured the country with Senator and J. Powers of Eagleville, both he and Senator Powers again visit that country sometime after the November election and before Thanksgiving."
The Hatfield committee report hailed by Governor Earl Brown as "an outstanding factual document of the seriousness of the disease presents to California cattlemen and livestock farmers generally throughout United States."
Senator Hatfield has predicted disease, for which no cure is known, will again invade the United States and has urged scientific research "to prepare to deal with the attack."
An epidemic of the disease in state in 1924 resulted in the necessary slaughter of thousands of cattle and sheep.
The legislature this year approved the sum of $75,000 in the Governor's Budget for research of disease to be conducted in cooperation by the University of California.

You're O.K., Avoid Crashes Under New Law
Possession of standard automobile liability insurance does not excuse a driver or operator of a motor vehicle from certain responsibilities under the new California Financial Responsibility Law which becomes operative July 1, A. H. Henderson, Director of Motor Vehicles, warned.
A standard automobile liability policy calls for minimum $1000 property damage coverage, $5000 for injury or death of one person and $10,000 for injury or death of two persons in any one accident.
"Automobile liability insurance in the required minimum amounts meets security provisions of the act but does not exempt a driver from the necessity of reporting his serious accidents," Henderson said.
“If he is involved in a mishap entailing injury, death, or property damage in excess of $100 to any one automobile, including his own, he must report that fact within 10 days to the Department of Motor Vehicles in Sacramento, marked to the attention of Financial Responsibility.
"The law calls for suspension of the driver's license if he fails to do so.”
If the driver is not insured he must post cash or other security to meet terms of the law. It requires the department to suspend the driver's license of any operator or driver of a motor vehicle who within 60 days of reporting an accident fails to post an amount of security deemed sufficient by the department to meet any possible damage judgments.
Report forms containing full instructions can be obtained from police departments, offices of the California Highway Patrol and branch offices of the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
Sugar Beet Crop Higher in Area
The sugar beet acreage in the area that supplies the Holly Sugar Corporation factory near Santa Ana will be about 14 degrees greater this year than in 1947, according to T. H. "Tom" Lacy, Holly superintendent in this area.
"The estimate of our area's chief agriculturist, George Cover, is that about 15,000 acres of sugar beets are now planted in the region that supplies this factory," Lady said. "Last year, 13,200 acres were harvested for us. Thus, we have an increase of some 1,800 acres in the total acreage to be harvested this year for slicing at this factory."
