Schreiber Is Now Manager of New Gazette Shopper Max P. Schreiber, well known about town, was this week appointed general manager of the new Anaheim Gazette Shopper, which made its initial appearance in the homes of north Orange county citizens on Tuesday, May 11. He joined the advertising staff of the Anaheim Gazette, a veteran newspaper established in 1870, as display advertising manager in July of last year with the progressive idea of launching a comprehensive shopper for the business men of Anaheim. Inspired by the continuous requests of well known business and professional men for the issuance for such a publication of service both for this community’s retailers and north Orange county consumers. MAX P. SCHREIBER ers, Schreiber's idea of the shopper grew. After almost a year of extensive research and work, the Gazette proudly presented the premiere 12-page edition of the Anaheim Gazette Shopper. It was with a concrete knowledge that postal regulations could be met 100 per cent, that ample newsprint was available, that public demand showing desire for such a shopper would remain constant, that the Shopper was published. Response to the first edition passed expectations as enthusiasm for the policy and public service was expressed throughout Anaheim's urban and city areas. The realization of such a shopper and its publication required the installation of new equipment to the Gazette printing plant and the addition of a classified ad department headed by Ralph R. Shopper will reach 15,000 home he disclosed. Widely experienced in the fields of art, display work and vertising, Mr. Schreiber was associated with newspaper writing in this city with the Anaheim Bulletin, where he was advertising manager for nearly two years. Active in club and civic affairs he was local chairman for the National Cancer Association drive during 1946 and is also past member of the Anaheim 30 club. He is a member of Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Lions club of this city. Mr. Schreiber, a home owner resides at 907 North Lemon street with his wife, Adele, and young son, Tommy. Nurses Say County Pay Too Little A warning that Orange county will not be able to attract qualified public health nurses to the County Health Department salary rates proposed in the 49 county budget was given board of supervisors this week. "While it is true that the rabies proposed by your personnel fecer have an unusually spread between the minimum maximum," the association with Chairman Smith, "it must pointed out that in every instance the minimum entrance salary much lower than this associates has requested and than exists other public health agencies." — the Rocker Arm-Shaft Oil Screen in Your Buick?
