County Therapists Organize, Name Officers at Meet
Constitution and by-laws were read and adopted for the organization of the Orange County Therapists Association at a meeting at the Rossmore Hotel last Friday, May 14, A 6:30 dinner was enjoyed prior to the business session. Election of officers was held later.
This was the third meeting for the new chapter and Mrs. Lois Keller, temporary president, was in charge of the meeting. New officers for the group are Mrs. Lois Keller of Santa Ana, the president; Orvil C. Brazeal, vice-president; Mrs. Arneta Paul of Balboa Beach, secretary-treasurer, and Chas. T. Songer of Buena Park, advertising manager.
Delegates appointed to attend the third general assembly of the Physical Therapists to be held in San Jose on June 11, 12 and 13 are Mr. Brazeal and Mr. Songer. Mrs. Georgia Whittel and Mrs. Brazeal were named alternates.
Guests for the meeting were Mr. and Mrs. George Gammon of Los Angeles.
Later in the evening the group adjourned to the "Glamour Studio" of Mrs. Keller where watched Ray Strahan demonstrate his Vit-O-Ray machine and table, an oscillating and normalizing dual control table.
Sponsor Mother-Daughter Banquet
A mother-daughter banquet, given by the Grace Lutheran church last Thursday evening in the church parlor, was attended by more than 80 members and guests. It was sponsored by the Women's Missionary Aide Society.
Pastel spring colors were found in table decorations of sweetpeas, roses, snapdragons and lighted tapers. Colonial doll nut cups were fashioned of paper in matching colors.
Program chairman for the occasion, Mrs. R. H. Olsen, welcomed the group. Rev. J. K. Jung, church pastor, offered the prayer after which all daughters present sang a song entitled "Mother."
The group joined in "Faith Our Mothers," with Mary Schimming, 12, at the keyboard of the piano.
Mrs. Mary Helhze, program loist sang a beautiful mother song. Accordion solos were presented Joan Roberts, including "Whisiting Hope" and "La Golandrina."
The offering was given for women’s work. Mrs. Frank Mauerhan was general chair of the banquet. Mrs. B. E. Baech is the president of the Women's Missionary Society, sponsing group.

Edith Browne To Sing Opera Role
Miss Edith Browne, talent young dramatic soprano of East Broadway, this city, singing the role of "Flora" in Traviata" to be staged Saturday night, June 12, at 8:15 o'clock at the Wilshire Ebell club, Los Angeles, by the Los Angeles Opera Association.
In Anaheim last fall, Miss Browne sang with the company which is directed by Mimi Cipanella, in "Traviata" and role of "Bertha" in the co-op opera, "Barber of Seville."
A student of Albert M. Coston, 206 South Rose street, is studying the title role of "Al which, according to present rangements, she will sing with association this fall.

Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Salaets, 515 West Center street, Anaheim, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Anita Salaets, to Ed Luhmann, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Luhmann, 1004 W. Fourth street, Santa Ana.
Wedding bells will ring for the young couple in June. The bride-elect is an alumnus of Anaheim Union high school.
Her fiance, a graduate of Santa Ana high school, served three years with the Navy during the recent war, seeing action in the Pacific theatre.
Holiday Stage Signs Comedienne
Vera Marshe, popular film and musical comedy actress, has just been signed by Holiday Stage, professional summer stock company, for the forthcoming season at Tustin beginning June 28.
Last summer she was applauded for her vivid comedy portrayals in the company's premier Orange county stand. Currently Miss Marshe is appearing with William Bendix and Clare Trevor in "The Babe Ruth Story."

Elect School Trustees in County Tomorrow
Anaheim voters will go to the polls tomorrow (Friday) to elect one member of the board of trustees of the elementary schools and two members of the Anaheim Union High school. But only for the one seat on the board of trustees of the elementary schools is there a contest. Candidates are Joseph P. Critchfield and John P. Mary, Jr. They are contesting for the seat to be vacated by V. W. Borden who is not a candidate to succeed himself.
For two vacancies on the board of high school trustees there are only two candidates, Arthur W. Shipke is a candidate to succeed himself and Everett M. Cone is a candidate for the seat of Albert C. Riutcel who is not running.
Contested elections in the vicinity of Anaheim are:
Elementary division — Brea: Gerald A. Wasson and Incumbent Madelyn G. West; El Modena, Jess Martinez and Paul T. Wycoff; Katella: Raymond B. Terry and Earl L. Zahl; La Habra, Incumbent G. G. Howard Kaylor and Kenneth L. Kessler; Laurel: Marvin L. Smith and Roy Wright; Loara: Incumbent Percy V. Kelly and John W. Yates; Placentia unified: Ralph W. Beatty and A. W. Chastain; Yorba Linda: Incumbent J. Allen Dyer and J. Vernon Jones.
High school districts — Brea-Olinda: Incumbent Guy Ledbetter, Leslie B. Slauter and Gerald A. Wasson, for two seats; Orange: Richard L. Robinson, David G. Wettlin, Jr., and James T. Workman, for two posts.
