Anaheim Gazette, Thursday, May 13, 1948 LA HABRA NEWS Funeral services were held for Mrs. Adaline E. Varney, 522 South Hiatt. Wednesday afternoon, May 12, at the Coleman mortuary, with Rev. Henry H. Stranberg officiating. Mrs. Varney died Monday morning, May 10, at her home, at the age of 67. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she had lived in California 50 years, having come direct to La Habra with her parents. She was a long time member of the First Methodist Church of La Habra, a past president of the La Habra Women's Improvement Club, and a member of the Monday Afternoon Club. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Varney, and two sisters, Miss Emma Fritz and Miss Lena Fritz of Los Angeles. Interment will be in Loma Vista Memorial Park. Anna Jungkeit Services Held Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Anna Jungkeit, 62, this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 o'clock at the Bethel Baptist church with the Rev. P. G. Neumann, pastor, officiating. A resident of Anaheim and vicinity for the past 29 years, she passed away Tuesday at the home of a daughter at 9842 Webster street after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Jungkeit, a native of Canada, came to the United States 57 years ago and had lived in California for 37 years. She is survived by six sons, Herman A., Walter O., Paul G., and Arthur W. Jungkeit all of Anaheim, Carl W. of Santa Rosa and August H. Jungkeit of Garden Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Fries and Mrs. Ruth Justus, both of Anaheim; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Risto of Canada, Mrs. Martha Hein and Mrs. Wanda Stankey both of Anaheim and Mrs. Emma Ratzlaff of Wasco; two brothers, Edward Panter of Wasco and Albert Panter of Fresno and 23 grandchildren. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist church. Hilgenfeld mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Entombment was in Melrose Abbey mausoleum. Miller Passes on Monday Mrs. Mary C. Miller, beloved wife of Thomas A. Miller of Richfield Road near Atwood, passed away at Anaheim hospital on Monday, May 10. Born in Iowa 78 years ago, she had resided in Anaheim and vicinity for 24 years. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church. Left to mourn her passing other than her husband are one son, James A. Miller of Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. Delma C. Jamieson of Lincoln Park, Mich.; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Zillah Spring of Columbus, O., Mrs. Grace Carrillon of Wooster, O., Mrs. Tura Kitchner of Portsmouth, O., and Mrs. Ott Carrillon of Hollywood. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary and interment will be in Fairhaven cemetery. CAMP STAFF MEETING TODAY, OTHER SET Camp staff members of Anaheim Girl Scout Camp Flicker, Camp Fisher and Camp Osceola, met this morning and early afternoon at the local city park and preliminary plans were made. Additional meetings of the three groups will be Thursday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 26, same time and place. Staff members of Camp Flicker will also meet at Irvine Park on Wednesday, June 2, from 10 to 2 o'clock, it was disclosed. A final meeting of the Camp Osceola staff will be announced later.
