CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
The Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon on "Everlasting Punishment" in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, is from the Psalms: "Evil shall slay the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate."
In his second epistle Peter writes, "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord... that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,... giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "The purpose and motive to live aright can be gained now. This point won, you have started as you should. You have begun at the numeration-table of Christian Science, and nothing but wrong intention can hinder your advancement. Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way."

The meeting is being jointly sponsored by the Kiwanis club, Optomist club and Parent-Teachers’ Association.
Panel speakers for the 12 o'clock luncheon will include general chairman L. Frank Kellogg, president of the Anaheim Kiwanis club; honorary chairman J. W. Stephen, president of the Anaheim Optomist club, and Mrs. Richard Roehm, president of the Anaheim Union high school, will also be heard.

Eastwood, field representative of the California State Recreation commission, will discuss “Trends in Recreation.” “Role of California Youth Authority” will be the topic of Curtis Whaley, field representative of the California Youth Authority. Mrs. Joe Grace Pickerill, president, Teen Centers and Councils of Southern California will speak on “The 4-H Club Fair Scheduled May 8
The annual 4-H Club fair will be held Saturday, May 8th on the Orange County Farm Bureau grounds, at 353 S. Main street, Orange. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. the livestock projects will be shown and judged and the clothing exhibit will be open for display. All 4-H members will have their year’s work represented and ribbons will be presented as prizes for the best projects.
A special baking contest is a new attraction this year. Both boys and girls will enter their pies and cakes to compete for honors. These may later be auctioned off to provide profit for either the member or his club.
Various 4-H clubs operating concession booths will be selling food and will also provide a place to play games. In the afternoon a fashion show, with the girls modeling the clothes they have made, will be a main feature.
This fair is sponsored each year by the Junior Farm Bureau and the Orange County 4-H Council and provides an excellent opportunity to show the many phases of 4-H club project work.
County Farm Women to Meet in Anaheim May 5
Orange county farm women and their friends are celebrating National Home Demonstration Week with a program and picnic at the Anaheim Ebell clubhouse and Anaheim city park, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5th.
The purpose of the day is to acquaint the women of all parts of the county, to recognize project leaders and lay leaders who have contributed generously of their time and energy, and interest new farm homemakers in extension work, says Mrs. Marian Prentiss,
State Approves Fair Site
Participation of Orange county in some of the horse racing money for the establishment of a permanent fair site moved closer to completion with the ironing out of affairs with the state of California and leaving only the matter of dealing with the federal government as to the price to be paid for the 175 acres in the southeast portion of the old Santa Ana Army Air Base.
In a letter to H. Clay Kellogg, of Garden Grove, president of the 32nd Agricultural district, state superintendent of fairs, A. E. Snider, has indicated that director of finance, James Dean, has approved the proposal.
Dean has instructed James S. Annan of his department to enter into negotiation with the federal government for purchase. The 32nd Agricultural District recently exercised its priority for purchase which withdrew the 175 acres from public sale.
Dean's action follows an inspection of the site by Snider and Earl Hampden, state architect, after which they recommended acquisition to Dean.
The site has been appraised by the federal government at $206,-390. County fairs have been ruled to be educational enterprises. Upon this hypothesis, Annan is known to believe that the site can be acquired for much less than the appraised price. In some instances discount as large as 95 per cent of appraised price have been acceptable to the federal government when property is to be acquired by an educational institution.
Snider has requested Kellogg to get a title report and to have the property appraised by a board of three Orange county men competent to indicate value.
