CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all." These words of Paul to the Corinthians will be the Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon on "Sacrament" in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston.
A Bible passage from The Acts relates that a man lame from birth, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an aim. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have none; but such as I have given it to the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up; and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God."
Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:" "Jesus, said: 'These signs shall follow them that believe: they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover him.' He was addressing his disciples, yet he did not say, 'These signs follow you,' but them—then heave in all time to come."

269 Minors Hurt in Month In Accidents
(Western News Service)
Industrial accidents to persons under 18 years of age are increasing at an alarming rate, Paul Scharrenberg, state director of industrial relations has informed Governor Warren's council.
Within a short period, he said, 269 minors have been disabled, and in a single month; three were killed.
“This shows,” said Scharrenberg, “that industry is still working young people despite restrictive laws.”
A survey has disclosed, Scharrenberg said, that 15 percent of industrial accidents are due to faulty equipment, and that the remaining 85 percent are due to human carelessness, the survey covered the total accident field.
With a view to cutting down carelessness, the department has started an educational drive, principally among drivers of trucks which are in danger of coming in contact with high tension lines.
He said four deaths at Walnut Grove, where drivers were operating spray trucks, and where elevated nozzles came in contact with power lines provided a sample. There have been 124 persons disabled within a short time as the result of similar accidents.
Collections of unpaid wages have been mounting steadily, he informed the council.

Liquidate Hens Advises Cory
All pullet flocks are more efficient in egg production than hens says W. M. Cory, assistant farm advisor. He says this is most important to poultrymen, feeding scarce and expensive grains.
Pullets consume less feed than hens in producing a given number of eggs. They lower the mortality in the flock. Constant culling of pullet and hen flocks will raise the average egg production and reduce flock mortality.

Anaheim Honor Bike Clubs Meet
Anaheim Honor Bicycle club members of George Washington school met Monday from 12:30 to 1 o'clock and members of Benjamin Franklin meet Wednesday, same time, with Deputy Carl Kopfer presiding, who urged strict observance of traffic regulations, especially when riding the new Christmas bicycles.
"These two-wheeled presents will stay shining and new and last a lot longer and so will you," he admonstrated.
Eight traffic violators were sentenced by a student court to three to five days of reporting for work to the school janitor at Washington school or five days of having their bicycles kept at home.
New citation books, designed like the ones used by traffic officers, were issued to club members by Kopfer. Any 6 to 14 year-old club member or friend wishing to be fingerprinted, will be served at the local police department on South Claudina street, he disclosed.
At Franklin school Wednesday, one student pleaded "not guilty" during the first actual court trial held with a jury. Time ran out and the court session ended with a hung jury which decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, the defendant was warned to avoid traffic violations in the interest of his safety and that of others.
The next meeting at Benjamin Franklin school will be January 21. Club members will gather for another varied session at Washington school January 26.
All parents of club members and of youngsters who ride bicycles are invited to attend inter-school meetings and the next general meeting which is scheduled

NEW POLICY
Adds to your Shopping Convenience ...Saves you money!
ALL WEEK-END VALUES NOW EFFECTIVE THROUGH MONDAY
It has been customary in the past to list special prices in weekly ads to be effective until Saturday night. Due to heavily congested traffic conditions, parking difficulties and stocks being depleted by heavy sales, many customers have found it difficult to purchase the merchandise on sale. So that our customers may shop for all values offered on a day when traffic conditions are more favorable, Safeway is extending the effective time of all items listed in our weekly ads over through Monday.
In addition to this new offer, customers shopping on Monday will receive the benefit of any price reductions which may occur over the week-end, and be able to buy from replenished stocks offering larger selections.
We suggest that you make your own test by doing your heavy shopping on MONDAY when conditions are more ideal and traffic is less congested.
