WEAR ARMY HERE Milton R. Roberts, 18, of 628 North Lemon street, was the first Anaheim youth to enlist at the recently opened United States Army and Air Force recruiting office at 128 South Los Angeles street, M/Sgt. H. E. Loeffelhardt, director, announced today. Roberts, who graduated from Anaheim Union high school recently, plans to serve with the U. S. Air Force until he will be eligible to retire at the age of 38. LICENSE TO WED A marriage license was issued to Manuel Pinedo of Anaheim and Teresa Dorado of Atwood, Saturday, at the county court house in Santa Ana. EPISCOPAL YOUTH NIGHT SUNDAY IN SANTA ANA All young people of St. Michael's Episcopal church are invited to attend the Episcopal Youth night to be held this Sunday evening in the Church of the Messiah, Santa Ana, Rev. John Kimball Saville, pastor of St. Michael's stated. The event will begin at 6:30 o'clock. MR. AND MRS. E. MAHAFFEY & ANAHEIM HIGH November '18th INSTITUTE TO Acquaint Leaders With Own Problems Twenty-eight residents of this county were among the 250 people representing 29 Orange County communities who, in order to increase their knowledge and understanding of their community, neighborhoods and social groups and to study means of providing an adequate recreational program for these communities, ended the Orange county Train-Institute in Santa Ana high school recently. Workshop groups were conduct-each evening to aid leaders in working with groups in specific activities. Every agency providing recreation within the county was represented in this institute. In addition to recreational lead-the two-week institute, which expected to become an annual event, was attended by teachers, present-Teacher Association members, church leaders, affiliates of probation department, sheriff's office and police departments. Those who registered from Ana-na included Francis J. Addy,ordinator of child guidance, county schools office; Mrs. Beasley-Broadway school teacher; Mrs. W. Combs, Boy Scout den moth-Richard Cooke, Lincoln school teacher; Neta June Cook, Brownie troop leader; Phyllis Grizzle,heim student; Y. F. Hammatt,heim teacher; Elizabeth A. Helena street, has been appointed district representative for the Orange County Tuberculosis and Health Association whose Christmas Seal drive begins November 24. Not only will Mrs. Youngs, who is prominent in club and church work in northern Orange county, aid in the drive, but also in the health program which will be extended to cover heart trouble as well as tuberculosis. This is in line with the policy followed by this association as well as other leading associations in the country. According to Frank Henderson, executive secretary, $35,000 is the goal set for this year, this amount being necessary to take care of the additional extensive program needed to combat the rising tide of tuberculosis and heart disease in California.
