Bids shall be for furnishing all labor, equipment and materials in accordance with Plans and Specifications therefor for the following work: (1) Construct 600 feet of 60-in. reinf. concrete pipeline, 3000-D; complete in place. (2) Construct 1845 feet of 60-in. reinf. concrete pipeline, 1500-D; complete in place. (3) Purnish and place 2450 tons of waste rock. (4) Construct one reinf. concrete combination manhole and meter chamber. (5) Construct one reinf. concrete outlet headwall on timber and steel sheet piling. (6) Excavate 6900 cu. yd. channel. (7) Move engineer's field office to and from work site. The foregoing quantities are approximate only, being given as a basis for the comparison of bids, and the Orange County Flood Control District does not expressly or by implication, agree that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith, but reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount of any class or portion of the work, as may be deemed necessary or expedient by the said District. All bids are to be compared on the basis of the foregoing schedule of work items. Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the Board of Supervisors of the Orange County Flood Control District has approved these bids. The amount of the bond to be given to acquire a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty (50) per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of any kind done thereon and the Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under contract which may be entered into between him and the said District for the construction of said work. That said bonds shall be in the form and based upon the conditions specified in Section 4204 of the Government Code of the State of California. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the law under the provisions of Division III, Chapter 9 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California. No bid will be received unless it is made on the blank form furnished by the Flood Control Engineer. The special attention of Prospective bidders is called to the "Information for Bidders" Annexed to the blank form of proposal for full directions as to bidding, etc. The work is to be done in accordance with the plans and specifications of the Orange County Flood Control District on file in the office of the Flood Control Engineer in the Court House Annex, Sahta Ana, California. Plans may be seen, and forms of proposal, contract, plans and specifications may be obtained upon application to the Flood Control Engineer at the above address for which a deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) will be required. Audubon Screen Lecture Tonight Alexander Sprunt, Jr., well known writer and naturalist, will be the guest speaker for the first lecture of the 1947-48 Audubon Screen Tours lecture series, tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 o'clock, in the Francis Willard Junior high school, Washington at Ross streets, Santa Ana.
