Phone Company Growth Smashes All Records The Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company has increased its telephones in service in southern California by 269,000 since VJ Day, according to Robert J. Rossberg, manager of the company's Anaheim exchange. This is more than the total increase of the four best years of the company's pre-war growth. There are now 1,290,000 telephones in service in the company's southern California area. During the last two years 1771 telephones were added to the Anaheim exchange to raise the total number of telephones in service here to 5163.
