Postmaster Louis H. Hoskins announced receipt of advices from Washington that under House of Representatives joint resolution No. 221, 80th Congress, and approved by President Truman on June 30, the 3 cent letter rate and other postage rates and fees in effect on that date are continued thereafter on a permanent basis. Had the resolution not been approved letter postage would have dropped at midnight June 30 to 2 cents. GAZETTE EMPLOYEES TO GET THREE DAY HOLIDAY For the second time this year, employees of the Anaheim Gazette will get a long weekend, the occasion being the Fourth of July holiday. Unfortunately, members of a paper force seldom have the good fortune of getting a long holiday since most of the events fall in the middle of the week or on such a date that the "boss" won't let them off.
