CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
"Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty." This declaration from Job will be the Golden Text of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon on "Everlasting Punishment" in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ Scientist, in Boston.
John's Gospel relates, "There is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool... And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool:
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked."
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy writes, "The great fact that God lovingly governs all, never punishing aught but sin, is your standpoint, from which to advance and destroy the human fear of sickness, for matter is inert, mindless."

By-Pass Trash Can, Call Us, Urges Goodwill
Spring cleaning time is here again and Goodwill Industries, providers of jobs for handicapped persons, once more asks housewives to by-pass the trash can and send old furniture, clothes, newspapers and magazines their way.
By phoning the agency in your neighborhood a Goodwill driver will drop by your home to pick up the Goodwill bag, furniture, or clothing.
Dedicated to giving handicapped people a chance, not an existence on a dole, Goodwill has grown to a point where it now employs more than 500 people at its main plant in Los Angeles. The agency exists entirely on contributions of articles by the community and can offer the aged, blind, or crippled a job only if sufficient collections are turned in regularly.
Anything from a worn-out electrical appliance, to an outmoded suit, or a broken down chair or davenport can be put to good use at Goodwill. Newspapers and magazines are especially needed now, to combat the current paper shortage and to provide shredded paper for the boxing of supplies being sent overseas.
