As Bell was about to test a transmitter upset a battery, and the solution spilled over his clothing. He called, "Mr. Watson, come want you!" GOVERNOR COMMENDS RELIEF FUND DRIVE
A drive now being instituted by the American Relief for Italy, Inc., a duly organized humanitarian group, was commended today by Governor Earl E. Warren, who asked that California respond generously to this appeal for help.

Local committees have been organized in many counties to actively assist in reaching the quota of $1,250,000 which the organization has set for itself.

Clear Up the Dust Germs Don't Toss Them About!
It's time to say goodbye to the broom and dustpan—they are out of place in this age of scientific cleanliness, when we know that dust germs are disease breeders.
Broom sweeping swished them about; filling the air with them; blowing them from one part of the house to another; letting it settle somewhere else—sometimes in the food.
The electric suction cleaner cleans. It sucks up all of the dirt and dust from the floor, rugs and carpets, collecting it in a bag, which you empty outside the house, and it cleans so thoroughly that there is no need of house-cleaning.
It is simplicity itself. You attach the cord to a lamp socket, and push the cleaner about, letting it eat up the dust. The cost of current is about the same as for your electric iron.
