Film Series at White Temple First in a series of five mnthly films on the life of St. Paul was presented last Sunday morning for the high school department of the White Temple church during the 9:30 o'clock church school hour. Following ppictures will portray the life and journeys of St. Paul, one of the most dramatic of the apostles. The outline of study with the sound film will include reading the biblical account of the material to be shown on the first Sunday, presentation of the film on the second Sunday and covering the chronology of action between the stories as well as discussing Paul's teaching as it touches life's problems today, on the third and fourth Sundays. "On the Road to Damascus," dealing with Saul's conversion, was presented last week. Paul Demaree is superintendent of the department and instructor for the two upper grades. Ealter Schmitt is the freshman-sophomore boys' instructor and Mrs. Edward Thomas, teacher for the freshman-sophomore girls. A cordial invitation is extended by the church to any youth of high school age not regularly attending another church in the community. Owner-occupied homes in California have increased by almost one-third during the last six years, according to the Bureau of Census. New Youth Program At White Temple Now well underway is the expanded youth activities program of the White Temple Methodist church. The new and more inclusive schedule is designed for young people of both high school and junior high school as well as those of the junior department interested in the choir program. Beginning at 5 to 6 o'clock in the evening, the Chapel choir rehearses under the direction of Miss Gania Demaree in Wesley hall. It is open to any youth of high school age. Under the baton of George Burt, band and orchestra instructor of Fullerton Junior college and high school, the church orchestra rehearsal is held from 5 to 6 o'clock. Both high school and junior high school musicians are welcome. The youth choir rehearses, also from 5 to 6 o'clock, in the junior assembly room under the direction of Miss Ruby Arnson. It is open to junior high or junior age singers. Craft shop is featured in the church basement under the leadership of Mrs. Nan Moore. Any high school or junior high student not participating in the music program may join. Ping-pong, shuffle board, and table games highlight the recreational hour held at the same time in the recreation room. Evening activities are under the supervision of Paul Sanford and planned by Craig Bottger, recreation chairman. Supper is served at 6 o'clock at the Parents club of White Temple in a cheerful informal atmosphere under the chairmanship of Mrs. G. Ted Bottger, assisted by Mrs. L. A. Bersticker. Youths and their leaders may enjoy the half-hour social period for 15 cents. Estimate Year's Crop In State Citrus Report A resume of the orange market, statewide, would show navels in San Joaquin about 80 per cent harvested as of February 1, with the peak ending about now. Light shipments are to continue through the end of the month, however. Decrease in volume of the San Joaquin valley fruit will coincide with a movement of fruit from southern California. Compared with last year, individual fruit sizes are better and skin texture, color, and flavor are generally good. Damage to navels from the cold wave in mid-January was held to a minimum by firing. Some ill effects of the cold wave may be shown by valencias, especially if no firing was done. All districts report good growth in valencias, and a record crop is anticipated in San Diego county. The valencia production for the state is estimated in early forecasts to be about 32,000,000 packed boxes, while the navel crop is estimated at 19,700,000 boxes. Lemons were on the increase in January, reports show, and heavy activity is indicated for February. Quality and fruit sizes are better than last year; 13,900,000 boxes is the estimated lemon pick, compared with 14,500,000 boxes last season. Picking of avocados is on the increase, and fruit sizes are larger and quality excellent in almost all fruit-producing districts. The Escondido and Fallbrook areas report heavy plantings of new trees. The grapefruit crop for this season is estimated at about 3,520,000 boxes, an increase of 70,000 boxes from last year. Youths and their leaders may enjoy the half-hour social period for 15 cents. At 6:30 the groups separate again. The Juniors and Intermediates adjourn to the intermediate assembly room for a half hour of worship and discussion with Miss Wanda Rinehart, leader. The high school department meets in the Ladies Parlor for their own worship and discussion session with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Holt, leaders. The entire group joins the adults of the congregation for a 40-minute evening worship service in the Sanctuary of the church, with Rev. Hayden Swift Sears, pastor, in the pulpit. This balanced, highly varied program, which is under the general chairmanship of Mrs. Nan Moore, youth director, and Rev. than last year; 13,900,000 boxes is the estimated lemon pick, compared with 14,500,000 boxes last season.
