Cities Per Capita Expenditures Shown
Per capita expenditures for Anaheim for the fiscal year 1945 were $41.04, as compared with a per capita expenditure of $28.45 for 1940, according to a recent report. This shows a considerable rise in city costs over the war years.
In comparison, figures for Orange county cities are listed in the following table:
City 1945 1940
Fullerton ... 28.19 31.34
Huntington B'ch ... 48.95 91.52
Laguna Beach ... 24.09 23.61
Newport Beach ... 43.28 77.25
Orange ... 19.58 22.18
San Clementine ... 68.10 122.62
Santa Ana ... 21.97 22.20
Seal Beach ... 51.69 87.23
In discussing the above figures with Anaheim city officials, it was pointed out that our city's per capita expenditures, as listed above, include, for instance, municipally-owned light, water, and power operations, and while showing the expense of same do not show the profit derived therefrom. Actually, statistics if available would show that dollar for dollar, Anaheim offers more and does more for its citizens than most other communities in this county. Its parks are unexcelled, its civic facilities are much greater and widespread than most other cities.

GOOD JOBS
Whatever trade or profession you choose, your job in the United States Army will be a good one. It will mean high pay. Statistics show that in order to equal the benefits provided by the Army—in base pay allowances, maintenance, privileges, and retirement—a civilian who is single, would have to earn $3200 a year. It will mean maximum security both now and in retirement.
A MONTH
While 40,000 good jobs are made available each month, the choice range is constantly being narrowed as quotas in the various branches are being filled. To take full advantage of the Army's new program you must act now! If you are between the ages of 18 and 34 (17 with parents' consent) and physically and mentally fit, inquire today at ROOM 109, CITY HALL FULLERTON, CALIF.
