Section Meetings
Alonzo Baker discussing "What's the Matter with American Education," regular business session and a surprise luncheon program are scheduled for the general Ebell club meeting next Monday afternoon, beginning at 12:30 o'clock. Deadline for luncheon reservations, which may be made by calling Mrs. Ray Van Wagoner., phone 4988, is Saturday noon.
Speaker for the Home and Garden section will be Mrs. Milton Sell of Anaheim, presenting "Pictures in the Home," January 13, at 1:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Presiding will be Mrs. Norman Lombard, leader.
The Toastmasters section will meet January 15 at 7:30 o'clock in the evening. Topic for the minute section participation lesson in words will be "My Favorite Magazine," given by Mrs. H. P. Tobin. A 10-minute pro and con discussion of "Socialized Medicine" will be interpreted by Miss Kathleen McFaul, Miss Adeline Curtis will talk on "Anesthesia Today." Mrs. Albert Raymond, leader, will preside.
The Bible section will meet January 20 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon under the leadership of Mrs. Juanita Ross. Speaker for the occasion will be Rev. Howard S. Congdon, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of this city. His topic will be "Great Person-

Evidence of the unseasonal robbery is found now in the absence of six radios, a thoroughly battered large console radio, a new plate glass window and a sign inscribed "Burglary Sale, Prices Slashed." All property damaged and merchandise rifled was fully insured by the First Security National Bank, Fullerton.
"I spent Christmas day three years ago at Madison, Wis., the next at Honolulu, and last year's in Tokyo, where I was attached with Armed Forces Radio Service," he continued.
A huge turkey was de-frozen in honor of this year's celebration at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Soules of Olinda. Also enjoying the festivities were his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Neyenhuis, and son, Danny; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Price, and Mrs. Ella Marshall, all of Fullerton.
Hiltscher-Looney Engagement Told
The holiday engagement of Miss Corinne Hiltscher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hiltscher of Romneya drive, to Lowell Looney, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Looney, of 419 North Claudina street, Anaheim, was revealed this week.
An employee of the S. Q. R. store, Miss Hiltscher attended Fullerton Union high school. Her bridegroom-elect is a graduate of son-in-law and daughter, of Long Beach, and Mrs. Effie Sprague also of Long Beach, his mother Mr. and Mrs. Dan Dodge and son Michael of Anaheim; the Patrick two younger sons, James and Charles of this city and Mr. Patrick's brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patrick Santa Ana, accompanied by a close family friend, Mrs. Ed Williams of Santa Ana. Unable to attend, due to illness, was Mr. Carrier of Riverside, Dodge mother.
Packages beneath the beautifully decorated tree were distributed by Charles Patrick who played Santa Claus for the occasional Additional highlight following the dinner was the operating room of the boys' electric train.
Dinner Party For Osteopaths
In a gala Christmas atmosphere members and auxiliary members of the Orange County Osteopathic society gathered in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Abbo Smith of Villa Park recently, for a festive dinner party.
Pine boughs and cones grace the living room mantle. Spray of pine branches and silver tipped cones blended with red satins decked the walls, front doors and windows. A polished log on the mantle held five red candles their glow reflected in the large mirror behind.
White elephant gifts were exchanged.

Hiltscher-Looney Engagement Told

An employee of the S. Q. R. store, Miss Hiltscher attended Fullerton Union high school. Her bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Anaheim schools. Since receiving his discharge from the United States Marine corps, he is employed at the Alpha Beta Market.
No date has been set for the wedding.
R. A. Patrick Home Scene of Gala Christmas Reunion
In an atmosphere of lighted red candles, holly and red berries, a festive family reunion dinner was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Patrick and family, 212 South Illinois street. Enjoying the Patrick's hospitality were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patrick of Whittier, their son and daughter-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sprague and children, Bill and Lynda, their pathic society gathered in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Abbott Smith of Villa Park recently, for a festive dinner party.

Heading the dinner committee were Mrs. H. G. Carlin of Anaheim, Mrs. W. W. Illsley and Mrs. John Helmken, Mrs. L. Adams was the invitation chairman. The entertainment committee included Mrs.' R. W. Tibbett and Mrs. H. J. Howard Members of the auxiliary we in charge of the dinner.

Opera and concert singer, were presented at Melrose Abbey last Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Vocalists included Misses Ruth Bourne and Joan Spencer and Mesdames Barbara Beddall Rees and Elnora Sanford. Organist was Norman Wilcox and piano soloist, Marjorie Cranston.
Following an organ prelude by Wilcox, the program opened with Miss Bourne's interpretation of Malotte's "Lord's Prayer" and "Saw Ye" by Root. She was accompanied by Wilcox.
"Indian Love Call" from "Rose Marie," by Friml and Lehar's "Yours Is My Heart Alone" were sung by Miss Spencer with Donna Thomas accompanying.
In highly contrasting mood, Marjorie Cranston played Ligzt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.
Mrs. Elliott presented "Praise and Give Thanks" by Adair and Herbert's "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life" from "Naughty Marietta." She was accompanied by Betty Fatchett Stockwell.
The beautiful "He Shall Feed His Flock" by Handel from the Messiah and "Fiddle and I" by Goodeve with violin obbligato played by Mable Beddall were sung by Mrs. Rees.
"Will o' the Wisp" by Nevin was interpreted by Wilcox at the console of the organ.
Mrs. Sanford sung "Dreaming Alone" by Moore and "Absent" by Metcalf. Accompanist was Miss Nancy Calderhead.
Concluding the recital Wilcox appropriately played "Now the Day is Over" by Barnby.

Alberta Brown Weds M. E. Patton New Year's Eve
New Year's eve event of interest to her many friends of this city was the marriage of Mrs. Alberta Irene Brown of 1011 East Broadway, Anaheim, to Maurice Edward Patton of 1813 South Van Ness, Santa Ana, at the home of Rev. Frank D. Howell pastor of the Brethren church of Lomita, California, last Tuesday evening at 8:15 o'clock with Rev. Howell, close friend of the bride's family, officiating.
The couple plighted their troth in an atmosphere of poinsetias, red cottonaster berries, and lovely Christmas tree Holly.
For the occasion, the bride chose a black and green semi-formal dinner gown with green and gold sequin trim. Traditional sentiment was found in her blue-edged handkerchief loaned to her by her daughter, Miss Edith Browne, and a lucky three pence. A gorgeous orchid corsage was her only adornment.
