A. CRISS, Prop. Closed Wednesday For Reservations Phone 4880 Bullets for War; Ballots to Win A Lasting Peace Although the shootin' war is over, the job is far from completed for World War II veterans, according to A. Ronald Button, AMVETS commander, Department of California. Instead of bullets, they must use ballots; instead of advancing on General von Runsted or Admiral Yamoshita, they must rout General Apathy from control of American civic affairs or the fighting has not been successful. "American veterans of World War II firmly believe that the returning veterans still have a big job to do for their county—a job which did not end with V-J Day", Button declared. Asserting that the Amvets are exclusively World War II veterans, Button went on to say that the organization is pledged to fight all "isms" except "Americanism". Declaring that the Amvets should perform one of the first obligations of good citizenship by voting at the polls in all local, state and national elections, Button said: "On behalf of the American veterans of World War II and all veterans, whether of this war or the first, we urge every veteran to vote at the coming elections. We fought together—now let's build together for a better and stronger America". Miss Paull Speaks On Therapy at AUHS P.-T.A.
