VOTE YES ON NO. 10
Governor Earl Warren is one of the best men ever to hold that high office in this state. At least the people of California must think so judging from the way they voted for him in this year's primary.
What has all this got to do with proposition No. 10? Well, it will allow the Legislature to fix the Governor's salary. It does not in itself change his salary but merely makes it possible for the Legislature to determine what the salary should be.
There has been just one change in the salary of California's chief executive in 67 years and that change came in 1908. At that time the population was around 1,700,000 and today our population is over 9,000,000. Yet our Governor still draws $10,000. The Governor of New York has a salary of $25,000. The Mayor of Los Angeles is paid $18,000. Governor Warren appoints a director of finance at a yearly stipend of $12,000 and Attorney General Kenny receives $14,000 from the State Treasurer for a year's work.
Idiotic? Yes it surely is and a remedy is at your hand. Vote YES on No. 10.

Following their election, the committeemen for each district will, as before, consider the proposed 1947 program for soil and water conservation and make such recommendations for changes as they consider will be of advantage to their community. The 1947 county committee will then combine these recommendations into a county handbook, which will be the program for this county next year. The procedure makes agricultural conservation a local farmers' program, as well as being administered by their duly elected committeemen.
