Donald Bernhart Discharged From Navy Saturday
Receiving his honorable discharge from the naval separation center, Terminal island, San Pedro, last Saturday, Donald George Bernhart, son of A. A. Bernhart of 22 N. W. Second street, Evansville, Ind., has returned to his home in Cypress.
Donald enlisted in the navy on Jan. 20, 1943, and held the rating of Mo2/c, USNR, served overseas for 20 months in Espirito Santos, the Admiralty islands and participated in the battle of the Philippines. He wears the Asiatic-Pacific and Philippine Liberation ribbons.
A graduate of Anaheim Union high school, Donald attended Fulletron junior college. His future plans include enrolling for further academic work in college. Before enlisting in the navy, he was a machinist and employed with Martin-Decker corporation in Los Angeles.
DISCHARGED FROM COAST GUARD
Etta S. Lingerfelt, yeoman third class, has been discharged from the coast guard service under the navy point system from coast guard separation center No. 11 in Long Beach and will arrive at the home here at 902 North Topeka street within a day or so.

Steve Valencia, brother J. F. Miranda of 612 West Ana-street, this city, retains his home last Tuesday discharged from the army Miranda is a member of police force.
Steve with his wife re-Maple street, in Santa Ana.
He was in service five years, two of which was duty in the south Pacific of operations. A T/5 wifebattallon in the infantry, much action in the line.
Plans for the future are infinite, pending a rest and action from the past strenghts.

Brother of Local Woman Returns From Overseas
Steve Valencia, brother of Mrs. J. F. Miranda of 612 West Santa Ana-street, this city, returned to his home last Tuesday evening, discharged from the army. Mr. Miranda is a member of the local police force.
Steve with his wife resides on Maple street, in Santa Ana.
He was in service for three years, two of which was spent on duty in the south Pacific theater of operations. A T/5 with 154-C battalion in the infantry, he saw much action in the line of duty.
Plans for the future are indefinite, pending a rest and recuperation from the past strenuous two years.
