CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
"Christian Science" will be the subject of the Sunday Lesson-Sermon in all branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. The Golden Text is from Isaiah, and reads, "The ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."
In a selection from John's Gospel Jesus says to his disciples, "If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; . . . These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says: "When the Science of Christianity appears, it will lead you into all truth." "The promises will be fulfilled. The time for the reappearing of the divine healing is throughout all time; and whosoever layeth his earthly all on the altar of divine Science, drinketh of Christ's cup now, and is endued with the spirit and power of Christian healing."

Acting as toastmaster was Peter
A. Bengochea from the Anaheim

Setting was in the Elks club
with highlights of the evening—
an employee talent show, stepping
to the dance tunes played by Bob Skiles and his orchestra, and special honor-feted 11 returned employees, among whom was Miss Clem Backs, this city.
Previous to the party employees had received individual "turkey" checks given annually from the company for purchasing their holiday bird to be enjoyed on Christmas.
St. Agnes Guild
Holds Yule Party
Warm glow of bright red candles,
boughs of holly and evergreen,
marked the Yuletide party
of the St. Agnes Guild in the true
Christmas spirit, with members
and guests enjoying an evening
at the home of Mrs. A. V. Newland,
726 North Heleha, assisted by Mrs. Clyde Daniels, co-hostess.

Gift exchange and club "sing" of Christmas carols, followed by delicious refresherments of cranberry sherbert, holiday cookies, coffee and tea, climaxed the affair.

City Led County Salvaging Fats During November
Anaheim housewives contributed 1520 pounds of used kitchen fats during November to help relieve the continued need for industrial oils, according to announcement by Marvin A. Sloan, southern California district representative of the department of agriculture. This represents 90 per cent of the city's quota of 1688 pounds for the month.
Orange county, as a whole, attained but 54 per cent of its quota, with collection of 12,069 pounds. All of southern California mustered 6.6 per cent with 414,500 pounds.
"Need for fats for manufacture of soap and for other industrial uses, including production of synthetic tires, nylon and pharmaceuticals, is as great as ever," the announcement declared, pointing out that production of industrial fats continues "critically short."

Guests at Yule Feast, Fullerton
Vibrant glow of the blazing hearth, glisten of the Yule tree with that unsurpassed "perfume" of roasting turkey filling the air, gave atmosphere for a long to be remembered Christmas day reunion at the home of Mrs. Grace H. Hedden, Brea road, Fullerton.
Accent of sparkle reflectink from a cluster of ornaments resting on a mirror, spaced on each side by stately blue tapers, effected lovely simplicity in the table appointments with poinsettia and wreath arrangements throughout the rooms.
Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Holsinger, brother of the hostess, who motored from Pomaona and her children, Bob and Barbara of Fullerton.
Unable to attend were Mr. and Mrs. Max Holsinger with their children, Judy and Tommy, Seattle, Wash., and Ensign Frank Holsinger, U. S. navy, who wired his greeting from the Philippines where he is attached to the staff ship, Acontuis.
Navy Mothers Give Cheer Gifts to Naval Patients
Seventy faces wore radiant smiles Friday afternoon, Dec. 21, due to the thoughtfulness of Anaheim Navy Mothers who distributed that many gaily wrapped Christmas packages containing writing folios, toiletries, 64 metal bed lamps, 10 pair of slippers and three card tables... plus refreshments and individual ward programs.
Scene of all this joyous activity was in the Corona Naval hospital, wards 429 and 431, unit three, with the patients there feasting on ice cream cakes, candy and apples, admiring the tray favors made by the Junior Red Cross, and initiating their "own" deck of playing cards given by the Sub Deb club of this city.
