Her bridegroom, of Fullerton Junior colls employed at the Globe Co. as draftsman, took mean pilot's training at the airport, and served as a instructor for two years at impressive coloring of "The Resurrection." This outstanding oil painting has an artist... he is Mr. Armin H. Heying, native of St. Louis, and Anaheim resident for over 20 years.
Displayed in the city library, "The Resurrection" is his latest interpretation on canvas of the Bible story, measuring 35 by 46 inches, with the face of Christ so stark white and showing such ravages of His pain that the average onlooker does have a shocking reaction.. Christ is portrayed in His white robe, with a stormy background resembling a smoldering sky... in the foreground, two angels, wrapped in soft pastel robes, are facing an arrangement of Easter lilies with a red cloak and spear placed in one corner of the painting. Explanations as to the reason for these symbolic accents to the picture, from the artist, conclude with the traditional Easter lily, dating back to this Bible time, has been known to us ever since. The weapons and cloak were dropped by the Roman guards as they ran from His tomb after discovering Christ had arisen.
Heying began his creative work twelve years ago, has sold over 300 canvases throughout this country and uses oil paints as chief media, in his historical, religious, and scenic interpretations, with plans for a formal exhibition of a group of paintings as soon as the last two are completed. This group exhibit on identical sized canvas will consist of "Christ in the Garden of Gethseme," "Birth of Christ," "The Crucifixion" and "The Resurrection." Completion of "The Resurrection" took six months and it is valued between $1,200 and $1,500.

CHRISTMAS
At It's Best ...
CHRISTMAS
At It's Best . . .
It is the duty and obligation of every American to make this the best Christmas of them all. It's going to be a big job, it's true, but for the sake of the sacrifices that have been made and because it's the neighborly and friendly thing to do, it is our job to make every effort to enjoy the full blessings of Christmas.
All of our loved ones cannot be home but may we keep in our thinking the idea of Christmas as it should be. and to observe it accordingly. That is the way those who will be absent would have it.
Let's be happy and considerate at Christmas and let us strive to maintain this same attitude through the months of the new year. It will make for a happier living for all.
Best wishes for the Yuletide and a host of good things for the year just approaching.

Grown-ups who believe in Santa Claus
Many a service man's mother, wife, or sweet-heart will be gladdened by a Long Distance call on December 24 or 25. But those calls home from newly-returned service men will add a big load to holiday traffic on Long Distance lines. Even without them, it's so heavy we are hard-pressed to handle the business.
You can help a lot... by helping us keep the lines open for service men.
