Notice is hereby given, that a petition for the probate of a document now on file in the office of the Clerk of this Court purporting to be the last will of said Edward Moore, deordained as follows:
SECTION 1. Sections 6, 9 and 34 of Ordinance No. 475 of the County of Orange, being an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE NUMBER AND COMMISSION OF OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES, CLERKS AND ATTACHES EMPLOYED IN THE VARIOUS AND SEVERAL OFFICES OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE AND DISTRICTS FOR WHICH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ARE THE GOVERNING BODY, AND OTHER PERSONS, AND PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATIVE TO CERTAIN DEPARTMENTS", is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 6. Hours and Overtime.
No person, except in the Highway and Flood Control Departments, holding a position in the service of the County of Orange shall receive compensation for services rendered over eight hours in any one calendar day, nor for services upon Sundays or holidays, nor compensation when absent from duty except as otherwise in this Ordinance provided; provided that whenever any person holding a position, the compensation of which is herein fixed at a rate per day, shall be ordered to and shall work on holidays or Sundays, or work over eight hours on any day because in the opinion of the head of the department in which such person is employed such work is necessary, and if non-performance will cause loss or damage to the County, such person shall receive for such hours of overtime work additional compensation proportionate to the amount allowed for eight hours service for which compensation is herein fixed; provided, that any such additional compensation shall be separately itemized on the payroll. Provided further, that in the Highway and Flood Control Departments when it shall be deemed necessary for any employee in said Departments to work overtime as herein provided or on Sundays or holidays, said persons if said Departments may be paid for said overtime at the same rate at which said persons are so employed.
Provided also, that whenever any person holding a position in the service of the County, the compensation for which is fixed on a monthly basis, shall be compelled to render service on Sundays or holidays, or over eight hours in one day, the head of the department in which said person is employed may allow said person a leave of absence with pay for a period of time according to the time which said person has been compelled to render overtime service. The maximum leave of absence for overtime permitted in any one calendar year shall be 12 working days, unless otherwise ordered by the Board of Supervisors; and provided, further that said leave of absence for overtime work shall in no event be taken so as to extend or prolong the vacation period as hereinafter in this Ordinance provided, but said leave of absence shall and must be taken as follows: Within a period of one year from and after the earning of said overtime leave of absence."
"SECTION 9. Compensation.
(a) Whenever in this Ordinance compensation is fixed for any position, such compensation is the monthly compensation to be paid to the person holding such position unless otherwise stated. Such monthly compensation shall be paid on or about the 1st day of each calendar month.
(b) Whenever in this Ordinance compensation is fixed for any position at a rate per year, said compensation shall be paid to the person holding such position, in monthly installments as nearly equal as may be possible on or about the 1st day of each calendar month.
(c) Compensation for each officer, board, commission, assistant, deputy clerk, attaché, and other employees in the service of the County for whom compensation is in the Ordinance provided, shall be paid out of the Salary Fund of the County, except when otherwise provided in this Ordinance or by law upon certification by the department head to the auditor that such employee has performed the number of days of work as set forth in said certificate. Provided however, whenever an employee shall have been discharged by the head of his said department, or otherwise terminated his service, certification of such discharge or termination by the head of such department shall immediately be filed with the County Auditor of the County of Orange, whereupon said Auditor shall draft his warrant for the period of time and/or pay due sald employee up to the time of discharge."
SECTION 2. Saving Clause.
If any paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance for any reason is held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such shall not affect the remaining portions of this Ordinance, and the Board of Supervisors hereby declares it would have passed each paragraph, sentence, clause and phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more than one sentence, clause or phrase be declared unconstitutional or invalid.
SECTION 3. Enactment Clause.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of 15 days after the passage thereof, this Ordinance shall be published for one week in the Anaheim Gazette, a newspaper printed in the County of Orange, State of California, together with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the same.

"Good Literature Sunday!" will be observed next Sunday morning at the 10:45 a.m. service at the White Temple Methodist church and all members who are subscribers to the church papers and magazines, the "Christian Advocate," "New Life... Magazine," "Methodist Women" or the "World Outlook", are asked to bring their copies to the church so they can be shared with other members who do not receive them.
For the morning service, the pastor, Rev. Hayden S. Sears, taking as his sermon topic, "Even Wild Geese Carry Scriptures" and the message will carry a special significance to the audience. Special music, under the direction of Betty Rees, will be presented this service. Also appearing for the first time at the morning service will be the Junior choir, under the direction of Miss Ruth Swanson.

Harker in the main auditorium.
The Young Adult groups will have their Hallowe'en program on Friday night in the church basement. These groups are: the College and Business group under the sponsorship of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harlow and the Prospector's Class, directed by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Focht. Each class member is to come in costume with the program to open with a dinner at 6:30. A sing program and the appearance of "Emax" of Santa Ana Army Air Base, internationally known cartoonist, will make up the main features of the evening. Each member is asked

Reverend James Harrison of
the Anaheim Foursquare Church has tendered his resignation and accepted the pastorate of the Redlands church.
Rev. Guy Martin who has filled
the pulpit at Downey has been chosen to succeed Rev. Harrison and preached here for the first time last Sunday night. Rev.
Martin did a splendid work in Downey and the church is looking forward to a great year of blessing for this coming year.
Next Friday night, October 26th,
at 7:30 there will be a reception given for the new pastor and his wife at the Y.M.C.A. This will also be the farewell party for Rev. Harrison and his wife.
