Believing that the example of Christ should activate the church today, Adventist ministers are being given special training in Health Evangelism and in supervision of health activities in their churches and communities. Thus the ministry to the body as well as the soul will become a definite part of their work. This intensive course of training is being conducted at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C., under direction of H. W. Vollmer, M. D. Glendale, Calif., in collaboration with C. S. Small, M. D., of the College of Medical Evangelists, Loma Linda, California. Doctor Vollmer will conduct a series of lectures and demonstrations lasting nine weeks, instructing Adventist ministers in simple methods of combating disease including administration of hydrotherapy, dietary regulation, and other Home Nursing procedures. The object of the course for Health Evangelism during the post-war era is to train their ministers to properly supervise this phase of evangelism at a time when broken homes and hearts must be ministered to as well as broken bodies. A well developed program to include all phases of ministry becomes the objective of the Adventist Church. It is planned that each Adventist church in every community will be equipped to conduct courses in Home Nursing, Healthful Cookery, Dietetics, and other phases of Health Betterment, through co-operation and assistance of local physicians and nurses. Courses will be open to the public, free of charge to all. PVT. RICHARD MONROE HOME ON FURLOUGH Pvt. Richard Monroe, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. B.
