YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU WANT TO!
We know that it will mean a real sacrifice for many women to go to work in a war plant. Many of you have never worked outside of your own home. You are hesitant about starting to work in a strange place. You may have children who need care. And there may be other reasons you can think of why you think you can't take an important war job with Consolidated Vultee, replacing a man who has gone into the service. But...
YOU ARE NEEDED BADLY...NOW!
All of the obstacles you can think of can be overcome if you make up your mind that nothing can stop you from doing your share in winning the war. And you will find it difficult to think of anything that would be more valuable to the war effort than helping to build the planes our men need, so desperately.
YOU'LL ENJOY THE WORK
In addition to the money you will earn, you will get a lot of satisfaction out of which you know will shorten the time you will meet and work with interesting people.
If you desire, you will have ample opportunity to enjoy wholesome recreation activities sponsored by the Emmanuel Division. Dancing, parties, bowling, tennis, badminton musical organizations are just healthful and friendly activities can take part.

La Palma Street Being Re-Surfaced; Better Drainage
A crew of city workmen are this week re-surfacing La Palma street west from Palm avenue to the Anaheim Citrus Pulp plant, to provide better drainage westward from the LaPalma park area. The new surfacing will slope sufficiently to carry surplus water to a drain intake south of the Fullerton water plant where the water enters a 16-inch storm sewer.
City Engineer E. P. Hapgood and Street Dept. Supt. J. E. Walter are in charge of the project. La Palma street is a main outlet for the northwest part of the city and is the natural drainage westward from Palm avenue.
Councilman Robert H. Boney, chairman of the public works committee, is directing the street improvement and maintenance program which is in evidence in year.
