Bethany Church To Celebrate 2nd Anniversary Here Easter Sunday will mark the second anniversary of the Bethany church, 122 South Lemon; it was announced by pastor, Herbert W. Ezell. The church was organized by the Rev. Ezell two years ago. REV. HERBERT W. EZELL and since that time has witnessed a substantial growth in membership and attendance, in spite of war time hinderances. Ezell stated that he has organized several churches during the past eight years for the California Evangelistic Association of which the local church is a member, but admitted that starting a new church in war times is a real challenge. He related how disappointing it was in the early days of the local work when the attendance was no more than five or six. Grace Lutheran Church Easter Week Services Three services mark the closing of the Lenten Season at Grace Lutheran climaxing in Easter Sunday services. During the School Hour on Easter Sunday the children and friends will see colored slides of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ, shown in the Church Parlors by Marion Rasmussen, Rt. 4, box 180. Sunday School begins at the usual time, 9:30. At the 10:30 services the theme: "Alleluia, Christ is Risen" will mark both the address of the pastor and the Choir Anthem. This anthem is the usual Russian greeting on Easter morning among the faithful and has been set to music in Russian style by the composer Kopolyoff. In another Anthem the combined Junior and Senior Choirs will sing: "Christ is Risen" by Molten. Doris Gamble, 417 No. Philadelphia, directs the combined choirs. At this service Holy Communion will be celebrated as well as at the Maundy Thursday evening service. On Good Friday Grace Lutheran will hold the community's only Three Hour Service. This will be from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and is conveniently broken into seven parts of twenty minutes each. The attendant may come and go when he pleases. Special music is provided by Phyllis Mohn, Rt. 1, S. West St., singing "Why Does He Love Me So," by Harkness, and "Were You There?" the famous Negro Spiritual by Wilson.
