It's only a few years ago that a lively American boy, who lived a couple of houses down the street from you, was carrying your newspaper and mowing your lawn. Today that same boy is carrying the future of the world into battle. War is bad business. A fellow can get hurt in war. He can get hungry, cold, discouraged, sick, lonesome and wounded. That's when he needs a friend. You can't go to the front lines but you can send the soldiers friend, THE AMERICAN RED CROSS. Those angels of mercy will go right into the front lines and even into the enemy prison camps. They will take food, medicines, comforts and entertainment to American soldiers everywhere. THE RED CROSS CAN DO THESE THINGS PROVIDING IT GETS $1.43 from you and you and you. Lay it on the line brothers and sisters. Heretofore you bought bonds and stuck them in your pocket.
