New List of Possible County Jurors Selected in Judge West’s Court
Names of nine Anaheim men and women were included in the list of 44 names of Orange county residents subpoened for possible jury duty in county court trials beginning next Monday, August 9. Barman, Placentia; Claire Shook, Yorba Linda; Mrs. Edna Dow, Buena Park; Mrs. Marjorie Peabody, La Habra; James Watts, Los Alamitos, and Mrs. Dorothy Jentges, Garden Grove.
Twelve names were listed from Santa Ana, and the remainder of the 44 represented Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Sunset Beach and San Juan Capistrano. Only three names were deleted, one for physical disability, one for incompetence, and one because of absence from the state.
All others on the list were instructed to report at 10 o’clock next Monday morning to receive possible assignments to duty from Judge Morrison. It has been pointed out however that some of the 44 may yet be excused from serving during the next three months, because of reasons con-

WAR BONDS
Torpedo Junction
"Awash amidship!"
"Sparks," the radio operator, has sent his final message from another J-boat victim. The lifeboats are pulling away from the doomed vessel as millions of dollars' worth of food, supplies and munitions settle to the ocean bottom in another allied catastrophe in the Battle of the Atlantic.
Millions of dollars' worth of material that was paid for by the dollars we saved and invested in War Bonds. Thousands of man hours have been lost.
We can have but one answer: work harder, save more and invest more frequently in War Bonds.
