City Officials Will Attend Conclaves Two city officials have been assigned to represent the city at important conclaves scheduled for early June, according to announcement made Tuesday night at the council meeting in city hall council chambers. The first of these conclaves is that of Pacific Coast Electric association to be held in Hollywood June 2 and which will be attended by Vard W. Hannum, superintendent of the city power plant. The second is the California Sewage Works association scheduled for June 12 and 13 in Fresno and City Engineer E. P. Hapgood will be in attendance. Other matters considered by council members included instructions to City Clerk Charles E. Griffith to call for bids on the city's advertising for the year beginning June 1. Decision was reached also for opening of the plunge in Anaheim City park on Saturday, June 12, where Roy Kirk will continue as plunge manager under Rudolph Boysen, park superintendent. More Water Asked By Tract Dwellers Despite the need which prompted property holders on the Coffman tract east of the city limits to petition Anaheim city council for an increased water supply, there seems slight possibility that the council will be able to grant the petition, according to consensus of members at their meeting Tuesday night. The petition was referred to Vard W. Hannum of the department of light and power, but since the Coffman tract lies at an elevation of approximately 25 feet above the city itself, it was thought that the only means of increasing its present water flow would be by laying new pipes. Since pipe is impossible to obtain under present priorities, the matter must, in all probabilities, await a change in conditions. Present indications therefore, are that Victory gardens in the Coffman tract must resign themselves to growing on less than the normal amount of water. ENEMY EARS ARE LISTENING!
