Virginia Harbeson To Become Bride; Early January Rites A Sunday afternoon tea, always a particularly pleasant form of entertaining, was chosen by Miss Virginia Harbeson, as a happy time for the announcement of her betrothal to Cadet Stephen Rondon of Madison, Wisc. The tea, given by Miss Harbeson's mother and aunt, Mrs. Charles Harbeson of Burton avenue, and Mrs. W. W. Herron of Los Angeles, found setting in the latter's home, 5140 Tenth avenue, in the Angel city. A hundred or more guests learned the romantic news immediately upon arrival, for each was presented with a small card inscribed with the names of the young couple, and the suggested date of January for their wedding. Miniature wedding bells and white satin ribbons added a festive note to the cards, and harmonized with the quantities of flowers in bridal white which decked the home and the beautifully appointed tea table. In dramatic contrast with the flower appointments, the hostesses received in smart afternoon gowns of deep hues. Mrs. Harbeson chose purple with which she wore orchids; Mrs. Herron wore fuchsia shades with orchids, and Miss Harbeson was regally lovely in royal purple accented with lilac. P.-T. A. Group Shares Varied Activities On Monday afternoon, Mrs. Mary called Horace Mann teachers and room mothers together for a pleasant tea in her home, 922 North Palm street, as a means of furthering friendly relations of the important association group. She outlined her plans for the year's duties, suggesting that friendliness was the basis for success. Plans were also made for the annual Christmas party for school children, to be staged shortly in advance of the holiday vacation. The hostess had arranged an enjoyable tea hour for her guests. Room mothers sharing Mrs. Mary's hospitality were Mesdames C. R. Hokanson, F. L. Lakeman, Carl Lemcke, J. A. LouKota, Vincent Borden, Milton Sell, L. L. Mills, Earl Hopkins, Albert Kirchman, A. A.
