CHURCH OF CHRIST “Results of Salvation” will be the Rev. Don Earl Boatman’s sermon topic at morning services Sunday at 10:40 o’clock in Church of Christ. At evening services he will preach on “A Thankful Heart.” Last Sunday, the pastor chose his text from Proverbs 6:17, enumerating the things which God hates, and pointed out that these are evils that the Church seeks to end. “They are the seeds that have grown into the violence that rends the world today,” he declared. BETHEL BAPTIST Appropriate to the season will be the Rev. H. G. Dymmel’s sermon topic at 11 o’clock services Sunday morning in Bethel Baptist church, where he will speak on “Thankful For Forty Years.” His evening sermon at 7:30 will be on “War Adventures of Missionaries.” The day’s events also include church school at 11 a.m. and Young People’s Forum at 6:45 p.m. Last Sunday, the Rev. Mr. Dymmel talked on “Jesus’ Peace Formula,” when He agonized over Jerusalem. “Like Jesus, we should be patriotic, “America — love it or leave it!” the pastor declared. WESLEY METHODIST In preparation for the Thanksgiving observance, the Rev. C. H. Archibald, pastor of Wesley Methodist church, has selected the topic of “The Sin of Ingratitude,” for his sermon Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. CHRISTIAN SCIENCE Paul's question to the Corinthians, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" will be the Golden Text in Sunday's lesson-sermon on "Soul and Body" in all Churches of Christ, Scientist. Passages from Luke's Gospel relating to the blind beggar near Jericho to whom Jesus gave sight, are amplified by citations from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" in which Mary Baker Eddy says "Neither age nor accident can interfere with the senses of the Soul, and there are no other real senses... Whatever is governed by God, is never deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life." EPISCOPAL St. Michael's Episcopal church, the Rev. D. Howard Dow, rector, will observe Holy Communion Sunday morning at 8 o'clock. Both church school and public worship will be at 10:30 a.m. Special Thanksgiving services will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m. There will be favorite Thanksgiving hymns and music, and those attending will bring the customary gifts of jellies and preserves for the Episcopal Home for Children. Cadet Davis, who completed preliminary flight training at Aero, Ontario in late September was transferred to Minter Makersfield, for his basic training. His flying training included the blue and gold motif of the nouncement party, a motif pressed even in the graceful noon frock of aviation blue with his fiancee chose for the occasion. Accenting her costume was corsage cluster of golden y rosebuds which Cadet Davis chosen for her. She also won the first time, her diamond engagement ring. Mrs. C. C.
