ANAHEIM GAZETTE Established 1870 HENRY KUCHEL, Editor and Publisher 1887-1935 Mrs. Henry Kuchel Theodore B. Kuchel Editors and Publishers The Anaheim Gazette has been owned and edited by the same family since 1875. Published every Thursday at 259 East Center Street, Anaheim, California. Subscription Per Year, $2.00 — Six Months $1.00 Entered as second-class matter at the Post Office at Anaheim, California, under the Act of March 8, 1879. Women’s Ambulance Corps Will Aid In City-Wide Salvage Campaign Next Week (Continued from page 1) plumbing, crank handles, tools, lawn mowers, tire chains, irons, garden implements, virtually any type of metal, as well as old rags, burlap bags, clothing, pieces of earpet, draperies, manila rope, glass bottles, jars,—even broken ones. All salvaged materials will be sorted and handled by various charitable agencies, including Salvation Army and Goodwill Industries. Proceeds from the sale of the materials through government channels will be returned to the communities where the salvage originated, to be used for emergency Civilian Defense equipment. This salvage collection is separate from the campaign for the salvage of waste household fats, which is producing excellent results according to Chairman Raymond. He again emphasized the fact that the fats turned in to local butchers, should be only those that would otherwise be wasted. Bacon fryings are among the fats that the government suggests should be retained in the home for further use.
