May Be Significant That Friday, 13th, Precedes St. Valentine’s Observance By JOE JASON Tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 13th, immediately preceding, as it does, Valentine's day, Feb. 14th, is expected today to give all local pranksters who are in the habit of mailing comic Valentines to friends and acquaintances, an opportunity to repent before the deed, instead of after. At least it would seem that there is some significance connected with the occurrence of the bad luck day of days, Friday the 13th, coming at the time it does. Though the combination of Friday and the number "13" may discourage many who superstitiously consider black cats, ladders, mirrors, umbrellas, and the like, it is not expected to dampen the ardor of Cupid who are reported this week to be creating a major run on Valentine counters here.
